Viglink Invalid URL

It seems as though every time I try to use Viglink I get this message

This is what I got for trying to use Viglink to Walmart;

  • The following URLs do not appear to be valid: http://www.walmart.com/
  • I get same results for   http://www.walmart.com/search/?query=boat%20todder%20bed          This is from the product page.

Because of this, I can't save my page.

I've been getting the "invalid link" message on just about every text link I try.  My viglink is working so I don't understand the problem either!

Maybe try shortening the URL with Viglink Anywhere, and see if that makes a difference.

I've also gotten the "invalid link" message recently, although the link itself was valid (I tested it).  I also couldn't save because of that, so I ended up deleting that particular link.

We've had this bug for ages, and, unfortunately, our tech team could never find a fix. Sometimes it helps to empty the cache, reload the page, and then try again. Sorry. Frown

I have had issues on my own sites and blogger as well.  I did the shortened link, viglink anywhere, then when I contacted Viglink, they wanted to know why I used the redirect URL which is what the shortened link is.

Even though I still have my accounts open with Viglink, I have started using Skimlinks with no problems at all.

Linda, I have an account with Skimlinks, but thought you had to own your own domain or be on Wordpress to use it.  How are you using it on here?  Were you able to set up Wizzley as one of your accounts?

Considering the ease in using Wizzley most of the time, I'm not particularly bothered by little bugs like this :-)

Country Sunshine: I use Skimlinks on blog spot and my own sites with a domain.   I haven't tried to get their approval for Wizzley.  They are like Share A Sale, CJ and others.  I know that writers use them on HP, Squidoo when it existed so they could approve us here.  The question would be if Wizzley allowed the use of Skimlinks or not.

Wizzley would have to include it in their set up. There is no place where you could put the code for Skimlinks. I use skimlinks as well on my own websites, as well as Viglink. However, I don't use them on the same site.

That's right Digby!  Skimlinks has that code you have to place, just like Viglinks does.  CJ, Share A sale, etc don't require a code to be placed.
