Zazzle in German and Sales

Hi,

This is for Simon and Chef. I'm writing to say that Zazzle in German not only gives us titles in German, but leads to the German Web site, which means that we won't get any sales. Now, older pages are not affected. But here's the rub: IF older pages are not affected, that means that the problem doesn't have to do with the German IP of the Wizzley server.

I'm hoping you could find an answer to this because it thwarts the whole purpose of the site. It practically pulls Zazzle out as a money-making option. I, for one, wanted to write several pages using Zazzle but didn't because I didn't see the point. And I want to write them because I'm designing on Zazzle and making some money with it.

That's a known issue:

https://wizzley.com/forum/help-me-please/german-zazzle/

I'll deactivate item ID input for as long as Zazzle doesn't provide a working API.

Thank you, Simon. That's a good idea. We'll then input items using keyword searches.

P.S. Or we could use an image and the zazzle.com link we can get on the product's page. Somehow I had gotten so used to the easy way that I forgot about the workarounds.

Hi Mira,

I want to promote my Zazzle designed items too. Can you throw some light on how you are planning to use this module. After not being active on Zazzle for a long time, I have decided to give it a try. How many items in Zazzle should I design till I can make a sale? Any inputs on how to use this module on Wizzley will help.

Hi Shraddha,

First you sign on. Then you pick a product and on the left side you'll have a chain link symbol. You click on it and it gives you a text link and a html link (complete with image) which include your rf (Zazzle associate number). I'm thinking both of these should work. Or you could take the images and link them to the products using the text links.

I don't have an answer for your other question, because it depends on the products you create and how you promote them. I have 3,113 results now but have actually built many more products. I had to delete the ones I made when I started out.

I sold 18 products through referrals and the rest directly on the site.

Hi Shraddha, Its good that you are thinking of making products on zazzle, but have you submitted the W8-Ben form and has it been approved? With regard to how many products you need to make, i think it is just like writing articles, you dont know which one will sell and which won't, so just keep making them as many as you can. Put one of your art on as many products as possible, its halloween time so really a good time to start

I tried to add zazzle products using keyword searches, but unfortunately i could add only one item and the rest were showing me 'No Hits', so i am not much certain as to how i should do that

I don't like using the keyword search, as it usually gives me results that are too similar.  Usually I do not like what shows up.

Also, does anyone know if this will give changing results on the Wizzley page, or will the items shown when you make the page will stay there?

I am just curious.  I don't plan to use Wizzley's Zazzle module now.

Simon knows a lot more than I do about this tech stuff, and if the problem is on Z's end, they will probably not fix it in a hurry.

So we must use a work around.

There is no way to know.  It really depends on how well you promote your items.  I am using the image module here now with a link to the product, or page at Zazzle.

@Dustytoes - Now I know there are more methods than using the Zazzle module of Wizzley. I really got confused when it showed German and could not go past it. Thanks.

I went through many Zazzle articles (I think there were quite a few of yours too) on Wizzley before I thought I could take the plunge.

Though I have registered on Zazzle a long time back, I did not take it seriously till now.

Hi Younghopes - I will need to find about the W8-Ben form. Since I haven't made a single penny, do I really need to fill the form. I believe it is for tax purposes.

Hi Mira - I haven't tried this method yet. All I was trying to do was - figure out how to use the Zazzle module of Wizzley. Now, I will definitely use this method as well. Thanks.

BTW - Do you mean you have more than 3113 products on Zazzle? Whew!! That's gross.

Is anyone using the category on Zazzle?

I found that if I put a product on category, Wizzley's module is unable to find the product by name/keyword.

Does that mean it is better not to use the category and put all the products in main store.

Well, I tried the Zazzle module again today. Search from ID is removed. If I put my store name and a keyword, the module is able to identify the products even within the category. So, please ignore my first comments, I am learning as I try to use my designs. I think the category stuff works.

Simon - please don't disconnect it!!!!

I have always been able to get a commission on items sold out of the US.  I have pages that have English links and German links because I put on the English first.  Zazzle is the ONLY source of income for me (as I live in Colorado and cannot use Amazon)  PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP!!!!!

If the problem is Zazzles - we all need to call customer service and complain.

Hi Marsha, the old pages stay as they are. Nothing to worry about.

I am assuming if one of the Zazzle items I have up from my own products, which is most but not quite all of mine, I can get the royalties.  Maybe I will lose the commission, but the royalties should remain.

Yes, you get the royalties. In fact, for your own products I'm not sure you can get both royalties and commission. I have two sheets on Zazzle, one with royalties and one with referrals, and there is no overlap.
