Wizzmaster Simon and the wizzling Gang of Wizzards have just completed a brand new Recipe Module.

Use this module to display well-formatted recipes in your articles. Wizzley will automatically markup this part of your article with recipe microdata. The resulting "rich snippets" will distinguish your page from other search results, and thus improve your chances of attracting more readers.

See the example below:

recipe SERP

As of now, we haven't implemented a rating system yet, and most of the fields are optional, but the more you fill out the better the result will look like.

For those of you who want more technical information on recipe rich snippets you may want to read up here on Google's Webmaster Tools: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=173379

If you already wrote recipe pages it might be worth it to enhance them with the new module as well, because the module also contains a nifty Print feature, as well as other social sharing links.

We hope you enjoy our latest concoction!

Simon's been divorced 29 times already. He's quite handsome and smart, but he does nothing but coding, coding, coding...

Its waaay cool! I've never done recipes on any site, not even my own, but now I'm kinda tempted. It would be a good topic for a competition .... Innocent

Couple of other questions

The link at the bottom of the recipes module - is that a rev share via viglink?

Do recipes have to conform to the 400 words minimum rule?

Paula, you do have quick reflexes... Wink

Just a tip though: The list of ingredients will be wrapped in special tags, and (hopefully) indexed as such. Therefore, I recommend only putting one ingredient, and optionally the amount, on each line.

So, instead of writing

Apples: We use MacIntosh apples because of texture and taste.

it might be better to say

Apples, 5 lbs or
Macintosh Apples, 12 pieces

Ive been using the recipe microformat on my recipe sites for almost a year now.

In addition to making your post standout in the serps, in many cases it will mean your post/page will appear in Google recipe search with advanced search functions.

Great Addition!

I will have to convert all of my recipe pages, but some are easier than others.
