Category Suggestions (for tea, but I think it would be good to think about this for other categories too)

I notice that Wizzley's categories more-or-less mirror Squidoo's categories.  I think Squidoo's categories, however, are one of the big weaknesses of the site--in many cases they seem to be a little haphazardly created, and they don't correspond to the ways that seem most natural to me to organize subjects.

I have some suggestions for the Coffee & Tea category, because it's one I publish in a lot.  I'd really like to see a sub-category: "Tea Companies, Brands, and Shops", separate from "Kinds of Tea".  The reason is that one focuses on a business, whereas the other focuses on a type of tea which may be sold by many different businesses.

For now, while the category on Wizzley is small, I think it would make sense to consolidate "Tea Pots" and "Tea Accessories" into one category, "Tea Pots and Tea Accessories".

Maybe I could get thinking about suggestions for other categories too.  I think categories are a weak point of Squidoo so I think it would be good to brainstorm re-organizing them, especially for categories that don't have many Wizzley pages published in them yet!

Websites generate these categories usually based on search terms - it'd be far too much work for someone to list everything about anything! The categories are most likely based on Google searches or information (such as popular keywords maybe?).

I'm not aware of how Wizzley do it, but if I were to have a go, this is how I'd implement it.

We have this path: Food & Recipes  →  Coffee & Tea  →  Independent Tea Shops

Not work for you?

Btw, you're both correct. We checked out what others do AND did our KW research.
