Those of you using Chitika know that we've got the option of switching on four different add-ons, in addition to the main basic ads. I'd like to recommend that you switch them all off. Just run with the basic.
Simon PMed me on Sunday with the recommendation that I did just that. I'll admit that I was slightly dubious about his rationale at the time, but went for it anyway. I've made as much this week as I usually do in a month. I'm obviously monitoring the situation very closely, but for now that looks like a no-brainer.
Just wanted to give you all the heads up.

Thanks for the info Jo.
I don't presently use Chitika, but maybe I should consider it.

I have some blarb here about Chitika on Wizzley, so you can see if it's worth it for you.

I now have some hard data to back this up. I switched off all of the pop-ups at the beginning of May. By the end of May, I'd doubled what I made via Chitika for a month.

That's great Chitika info, Jo...
I do use Adsense - not just on Wizzley, but on my blogs and everything else, too.
I just now hit 100 articles but in the past 5 months (think I had between 75 and 100 articles during that time) I made $54.00 with Adsense just on my Wizzleys...not including that it performs well on my other online "real estate."
If you can get approved for Adsense, it can be very beneficial financially. I tried Chitika for awhile on other sites but I couldn't get it to perform...probably just me.
Some people are put off because Adsense is a bit stricter to apply for, but I created a Blogger blog a few years ago and once I had about 5 posts, I applied for Adsense through Blogger - and was approved quickly.
That's my Adsense scoop for the day! Gotta get back on the road this morning...talk to you all later.

I was kicked off Adsense within the first month of using it. I was given no explanation. I appealed and was immediately rejected. I went onto the Adsense forum and one of the webmasters said that it was being I'd blogged about the riots happening in my home city. Game over.
Recently, I followed Sam's advice and appealed again. I put in a lot of effort demonstrating that I knew how to bend over backwards to suit them. I got an automatic response within the hour basically saying 'no'. Again no explanation.
In the meantime, I've had nearly two years of people telling me that you can't make a living online without Adsense. That you should just give up if Google hates you. I refuse.
I'm glad that Adsense is making money for everyone else though. <3

Oh, it's making money, is it? Why is it not passing any of that over to me??
Maybe i need to try Chitika or maybe I need to wait and see if the new developments talked about bring anything.

Oh Jo...
I didn't know about your Adsense history...and believe me, I would never have even appealed! This whole online praying to the Google gods game is disgusting...doing the dance, sleepless nights and sweat on the brow if you're acceptable. It is ridiculous and isn't what life is about.
I missed that history with you and certainly meant no harm! Don't blame you one bit.
For now, and that can change anytime, I'm in "favor" with the big G...if one day I'm not, I will grieve for a few days and completely move on...
I did leave a post here because some who only write on these online sites feel getting "approved" for Adsense is impossible...wanted them to maximize income while they can and see it is far from impossible to get approved. But yeah, if Adsense decided they hate me one morning...I'll curse for a bit over coffee, then switch to Chitika!
I do feel for those who let the G Empire dictate their happiness/sadness for the day - there is only one person in the world who can control your destiny, happiness and future...YOU!

Paula - By all accounts, Adsense is where the big bucks are. I'd stick with that, if you can. It does take time to develop.
Robyn - Sorry if I sounded a little snappy. I didn't intend to, but I know that this constant Google thing has left me with a massive chip on my shoulder. You never stop jumping through their hoops, even when you're locked out of Adsense. I have to comply so that the rest of Wizzley can get paid. It would be the same on any other 2.0 site. Some won't even let you in without Adsense.
I wasn't going to appeal the second time, but Sam did so much research on my behalf that it felt rude not to.
