Placement of 'Email notification of new posts'

Is it possible to move the 'Email notification of new posts' tick-box to the overall level (or add a new one) rather than having it at the response / reply level?

There are occasions when I have no response to give but would like to follow the responses that the topic receives.

There are other occasions when I make a response, want to follow the topic, but forget to tick the box.

This is already on the To-do list :) At least that's what I remember someone saying on the forums - I guess it was Chef. 

Very good point.  I thought I was the only one who forgot to check the box.  You can't do it in "edit" either.
