I notice that Wizzley is really lagging behind Squidoo and other article directories in terms of indexing of pages.
On Squidoo, if I publish a new page, tag it properly, and promote it on-site, it's indexed by Google within a matter of days. Even on EzineArticles, just a flat article directory, stuff I post gets indexed almost immediately. With Wizzley, this doesn't seem to happen very fast. I have published a page on chun mee green tea on Jan. 3rd that is still not indexed by Google (and I've shared it on Google+ which I know helps indexing). Many of my other pages are also not indexed. So far I've published 6 pages and only 2 are indexed. Two have been unindexed going back through Dec 24th.
I know that external sharing will help these pages get indexed and I'm planning on doing more social media sharing of my pages (I've just done Google+ so far) and maybe linking to them from other sites I control. So I'm not concerned about my own pages.
But I do think this is a sign that maybe something could be improved...maybe something about the internal organization of the site? I notice there's a sitemap but I think internal links are very important.

We've seen articles indexed within the hour, Alex. However, I'm sure there are all kinds of factors involved, and we'll have an eye on it. Right, Simon?

The quickest I've ever seen one of mine indexed was about nine minutes. I have no idea how that happened but I was assured that it wasn't the norm for any site! I guess it was just good timing.
I've certainly seen them appear in an hour or so though.
I've not long posted one, so I'll keep refreshing it to see how long it takes. Well, every hour or so. I'll be able to report back to the nearest hour anyway. :)

I've just checked and my article is now indexed by Google. It was sometime during the past 45 minutes (as I was distracted by 'Finding Bigfoot' and didn't refresh. >.> ). That makes it just over an hour between publication and index.
The article itself says that it was published one hour ago.
I don't know if that helps at all!

My articles normally get indexed in hours, not days, not sure why that doesn't apply to everyone, SY

My articles often get indexed within minutes as well. I've seen Google visitors arrive within a few hours. There's nothing wrong with Wizzley indexing.

Cazort, I guess the problem in your case was with the approval time etc. One of my articles took over a month before it was indexed. It was my 3rd or 4th article. After the 5th article the others were indexed within hours just like the others have stated.

Yup, that's true :) Read your latest article as well enjoyed it.

Ahh, that makes sense, so new articles published after becoming approved will presumably be indexed faster, presumably because of changes in nofollow/dofollow or other changes related to indexing and crawling by search engine robots?

The first 5 articles are blocked from indexing until after they've been approved by admin.
After 5 approved articles, an author's new pages are immediately free for indexing.
Generally speaking, our articles get crawled and indexed within a very short time.
That's all I know. (And how to make a mean banana bread.)

Can somebody enlighten me please:
Is there a chance for an approved article from a restricted author to be indexed? Or does an author have to be trusted first for any of his articles to be allowed for indexing with Google?

Thanks, chef. I thought it was the other way around. At I least I now know it's possible for my first two pages to be indexed by Google; I just have to do a bit of waiting, and not necessarily spin out another 3 articles and become trusted author ASAP to get my pages indexed.
