Shouldn't having a thumbnail image be required before being able to publish a page?   I have seen quite a few pages without thumbnail images and even some from featured authors.

We've said it sooo often: articles without thumbnails can't be shown on our front pages.

Some day, we may come up with a rule like your suggestion. But do we really have to have rules about everything?

Sorry to repeat a topic that has already been discussed numerous times, but I am new so I guess I missed it.

In addition to not featuring articles on the front page that don't have images, you may want to consider not featuring authors that don't consistently use thumbnail images on their pages.   Visitors may click on these author's pages, which represent the site, and they don't look very professional.   That is how I came across these pages in the first place.  Just a thought.  Carry on.  Smile

I have now gone back and added a thumbnail to a couple of my articles that were previously published without one.

will the Wizzley site automatically realize that it can now show the articles?

and will it help for the article score if the image is posted retroactively?

I think it's good not to have rules about everything. sometimes there are useful and interesting topics that don't have a relevant photo, and it's good to be able to post an article even if there isn't a photo to go with it.

but it's also good to have a friendly reminder about the importance of the image.

The system should recognize your additions. Whether your rankings will go up, needs to be seen. Many different aspects play a role in our internal ranking.

I think you can find relevant images for any kind of topic. Although they are not necessary for Google rankings, thumbnails make for prettier list pages on our site, and anything with images contributes to a better user experience.
