Go to settings - under your user name - and there you will see the image area. Do the "choose file" and import a photo. Hope this is clear. |

I remember now that I had tried this earlier and it didn't work. Have just tried it again, 3 times, and although the caption comes up, the image doesn't. Any ideas? I've tried two different images. MariNicholson

I also had this problem a while back. It seems I had a bad link somewhere in my settings. I think it was somewhere in my forum signature area - maybe a link to Zazzle (probably) because Wizzley has a problem with those text links. I can't remember exactly, but check your links, or remove that part of the page and try the photo. |

Is your image too big maybe? I'm out of options. |

No, I checked on that too. I've now tried 3 different images but it's just refusing to upload any of them. I'll try again tomorrow, maybe it's just having a hissy fit. MariNicholson

Your image should be a jpg file, Maritravel. Maybe you have some other type of file. |

All the ones I've tried have been jpegs. I even tried to upload the one I'd used formerly but it won't accept that either. MariNicholson

Hi Mari, if no one else has problems with this, there's probably something wrong on your end. Sorry, but we can't help you in that case. Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

Right. Thank you for getting in touch. I shall have to call in my computer repair man as I can't think of anything more I can do and I've asked all people i know who have some knowledge of these things and none of them can help. I'll put a note on here if, and when, I solve the problem. MariNicholson

If you feel comfortable with this, I'd say try to uninstall your browser and then install the latest version. But before you do that, run an antivirus scan. |

Thanks for the tip, Mira, but I don't feel confident enough to mess with the browser. I can do a lot of stuff with the computer, including minor repairs and keeping it up to date, but I never touch things like the Directory or the browser settings. I'm going to leave it until after the week-end, someone at the hairdressers may know something tomorrow! MariNicholson

Reinstalling your browser is relatively easy, Mari. At least, providing you have a decent net connection, I should say. All Windows computers these days default to Internet Explorer (IE) as standard unless other browsers are installed and marked as default. Use IE to access Google. Type in the name of your preferred browser. Follow the instructions on the provider's page to download the latest version. Make sure it is the official download, though. Firefox comes from Mozilla and Chrome is a Google product. I reinstalled Firefox on here through IE when I had a useless connection little better than dial up speed. Then I reinstalled Chrome from Firefox, using the same instructions for finding the browser as I just typed above. The connection problem was diagnosed by the Mozilla techs, bless them, when I contacted them to ask why it was taking so long for a download. Turns out we had a poor download speed. You might also want to check that your versions of Java, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Flash are up to date, because as I have just found, the newest versions do some strange things but the older versions are worse for putting a number on your computer. Hope you get your problem sorted soon. I would also suggest running CCleaner to clear your browsing history and cookies (which can gum up a machine summat rotten after a while) and an antivirus such as AVG (free and available widely online). Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.

Thanks for your long and helpful reply. I have used CCleaner on the PC and I usually do a clean-up once week anyway. This has me beat though, especially as it is only affecting Wizzley. I can upload images to WordPress and a friend's website to which I contribute occasionally. My browser is Chrome and my anti-virus is Microsoft's own recommended by my computer man who uses it himself. His reckoning is that as we are using Microsoft's software virtually all the time, their anti-virus should be the best to combat trouble. I must say I've never had a problem. I shall have another go over the week-end. Got to finish up now as i've got an eye op. tomorrow morning. Nothing too serious, one of the eyes is throwing up a lot of scar tissue, first started when I had a measles attack when I was a child, and they have to laser it off to stop a bit of double vision I'm having. Can't read the sub-titles on the screen when watching foreign films - and that's a disaster with a new Scandi noir one in the pipeline. Will let you know if I get it fixed.
