Glass Teapots with Infusers

by Rose

If you are serving flowering teas, you need a glass teapot. This page reviews the best glass teapot sets with infusers and advises where you can buy them

Glass teapots are a really stylish way of serving tea, especially if you use the "flowering tea balls" that unfurl into a flower as you add hot water.

Having a built in infuser also helps ensure that you don't need to use a separate tea strainer when you pour your tea. I tend to use mine as a glass pitcher in the summer to serve lemonade or juice - you don't have to serve tea in it.

Here are the best glass teapot sets with infusers.

GROSCHE Munich Glass stove top Tea Kettle with Infuser

This is a teapot and a kettle in one. Made from tough borosilicate thermal glass, you place the tea-kettle on top of your stove (electric, ceramic or glass), to boil the water. It comes with a glass infuser that you use when making tea with loose leaves, or you can leave out the infuser when making tea with the flowering tea balls - but because the infuser is pretty big, I add the ball inside the infuser as it has plenty of room to unfurl.

You can also just use it as a normal teapot, boiling water in a kettle and pouring it in. In the summer I've been known to use this as a pitcher to serve fruit juice!

Primula Flowering Tea Pot Set

Primula make flower ball teas, and in this tea set you get a 40 ounce borosilicate teapot, which is safe on the stove, in the microwave and in the dishwasher. It comes with a removable infuser, if you want to make tea with loose leaves rather than the tea balls.

They include a canister of Primula flower tea which containers 12 green tea balls with jasmine flavor.

Northwest Glass 8 cup Glass Tea Pot

This teapot is also made of borosilicate glass and is safe on the stove, in the microwave and in the dishwasher. The glass infuser is removable.

They include a wire grid for use on electric stoves, (this is not required for gas stoves)

Sun's Tea 41oz Glass Teapot with Infuser

This has a proper old-fashioned round teapot shape. Made of borosilicate glass with a glass lid and removable glass infuser, the glass is safe in the dishwasher and microwave (though I'm sure most people will make their tea the old fashioned way by boiling a kettle!).

What are Flower Tea Balls?

They are hand tied artisan bouquets of natural green tea leaves with certain herbal flowers added, such as jasmine.

As you pour the hot water over the flower ball, it slowly unfurls into a beautiful flower.

The whole process enhances the ritual of serving tea in glass teapots with infusers .

Hi Rose! I love these glass teapots. The flowering tea is really so beautiful to watch unfold. I have written about them elsewhere. Your article is well done.
