Green Lantern

Green Lantern was one of the first superheroes to be truly diverse.  Green Lanterns come in every shape, size, race, color, and creed, and even gender from the worlds in the universe that Hal Jordan becomes a part of.  And if you think about the Green Lantern oath, which many of us who grew up with Green Lantern can recite from memory (below),

"In brightest day, in blackest night,

No evil shall escape my sight

Let those who worship evil's might,

Beware my power... Green Lantern's light!"

isn't it a simple declaration of good against evil in all its forms?  This oath, and the essence of the Green Lantern superhero are just as valid today, as they were back in 1940.  We still have evil to fight, and overwhelming odds to fight against.  Yet here we are, ready to recite the oath along with our hero, Green Lantern, as he reappears in the 2011 Green Lantern movie.

Teamwork has become the lexicon of the new age in education, and in business.  Learning to work together with diverse individuals is a challenge that we must all be able to overcome and adapt to in the new global environment that we live in.

How amazing that Green Lantern has been the ultimate in team players for so many decades.  Green Lanterns need to work as a team, and on their own, to battle evil across the galaxy.  Surely the rest of us can learn to work together on smaller sized projects than that.

Many of the old vintage Green Lantern art images were not available for quite some time, and are now being reprinted due to the upsurge in the popularity of the Green Lantern hero with the new Green Lantern movie coming out in 2011.

The Green Lantern movie is bound to be a huge blockbuster due to the original popularity of the superhero (many baby boomers still remember watching him or reading about him), and the previous super hero movies that have been coming out over the last few years from both DC Comics and Marvel Comics.

The Green Lantern movie combines many themes that will interest children of all ages including action, adventure, science fiction, aliens, and super powers. 

If you would like to have some posters, prints, tee shirts, or other Green Lantern collectibles, now is the time to get them while they are being reprinted.

While we can admit that seeing Green Lantern in a full feature blockbuster film is completely awesome, we still may want to catch up with his adventures in animated form.  Below are just a few of the animated feature films that you can buy for your home until the blockbuster film is available on DVD.

This should keep your kids happy (and you?) watching the Green Lantern fight evil villians in animated form.  Some of these DVD's are also available in BluRay.
