Star Wars Christmas Decorations for Outdoors

by blackspanielgallery

Christmas decorations featuring star Wars characters as lawn or indoor decor are available, as are Star wars inflatable decorations. R2D2, C3PO, and Yoda are likely to be seen.

Star Wars characters have joined the many different characters that are the subject of Christmas decorations. At first I was not certain this was a good idea, but then we do have Mickey Mouse, Snoopy, and so many other less than traditional characters in use as Christmas decorations. While we should never forget the real meaning of Christmas, decorating with something that gives joy seems harmless enough, so why not have some popular Star Wars characters?

Kinds of Christmas Decorations

Outdoor Options

Outdoor Christmas decorations come in many forms, but the two types of outdoor Christmas decorations currently popular are the large air filled inflatable items and standing lighted characters.  Both types are available with the Star Wars theme.

R2D2 and C3PO

The Androids

The Star Wars Christmas decoration that I would expect to become the most popular is the twenty-eight inch R2D2 lighted figure.  R2D2 is illuminated from within with a fifty light LED set.  The android wears a red Santa Claus hat.

The R2D2 decoration is rated for indoor or outdoor use, so it can stand on a lawn or in a prominent place indoors.  This is certain to please children, and adults like me.  This is a Kurt Adler piece, so you can expect quality.

Another android decoration is the large five and a half foot C3PO and R2D2 inflatable decoration.  This inflatable comes with the air supply and stakes that you will need.  The inflatable is internally lighted with miniature lights.

The ones I have shown here are all likely to be popular, and the Kurt Adler pieces may be found both indoors and outdoors.

Yoda Christmas Decorations

Star Wars

Yoda decorations include a twenty-eight inch tall figure that comes with a fifty miniature light string, which provides internal lighting.  Yoda is wearing a Santa Claus hat, and holding his green light saber.  This is a Kurt Adler decoration, and is rated for both indoor and outdoor use.

If you do not like light sabers in your Christmas decorations, a second version has Yoda holding a candy cane and wearing a full Santa Claus suit.  This is also internally lighted, and is a Kurt Adler decoration.  This one can also be used either indoors or outdoors.

A Yoda in a Santa Claus suit holding a candy cane is available as an inflatable decoration.  The inflatable stands three and a half feet tall, and is internally lighted with LEDs.

Yes, but Christmas is specifically a Christian holiday. The problem I had was the two characters I did not show were Storm Troopers and Darth Vader. While Darth Vader did in fact repent in the end, I am uncertain if most people would not consider him as a representative of evil. I was careful in choosing the ones that I felt appropriate. blackspanielgallery, Spirituality does run throughout the Star Wars films so it's understandable that they can be adapted to holiday decor. The Yoda is enchanting. I definitely understand the appeal of C3PO and R2D2!
