Vintage Glass Easter Ornaments

Are you looking to add to your vintage glass Easter ornament collection? Here are some interesting finds to add to your Easter party.

When thinking of ornaments, the first holiday that comes to mind is Christmas, however, many people like to decorate their homes and trees with ornaments for other holidays, especially the spring holiday of Easter.

In fact, decorating for Easter with ornaments is a very old tradition, and you can find many lovely antique and vintage Easter ornaments to add to your vintage decorations collection. I always prefer the glass decorations, and here are some really stand out vintage glass ornaments that you can buy for this year's Easter holiday.

Interchangeable Christmas and Easter Ornaments

There are definitely some vintage ornaments that can be used for both Christmas and Easter.  One of my favorite styles of vintage glass ornaments are the icicle ornaments shown below.  These stand out and can be hung from a tree, or put in a vase, or even stuck into floral foam in a pot or vase to decorate your home for the holidays.

Vintage Murano Glass Easter Candy

One of the most unusual glass ornaments or decorations that you can buy is the Murano Glass Candy ornaments.  These are bits of colorful Murano glass made into candy shapes by the glassmakers who blow glass in Italy.  Some of the candy glass looks like gumdrops, while others look exactly like wrapped candy.  You can also find some that look like lollipops.  My parents have some of this glass in a candy dish in their home, and I can't tell you how many times we have had to stop someone from eating them.

Vintage Glass Easter Eggs

The Easter Egg is one of the most significant symbols of Easter, and therefore, it is not surprising to see that there are many vintage and antique glass Easter egg ornaments from manufactured to handmade.  Easter eggs can be solid glass, or they can be hollow.  In addition, they may be cut in half to form a dish or holder for something else.

Since the egg shape is a good one to hold candy and other foods, many manufacturers of glass have made serving dishes in an egg shape for Easter.

You can also find many lovely hand painted, enameled, or gilt vintage glass Easter egg decorations.

Collectible Fenton Glass Easter Figurines

One of the makers of glass, Fenton Glass, has an entire line of lovely solid glass Easter figurines that can be found in the aftermarket being sold by collectors.  Fenton made many figurines, but I like the solid color, animal figurines the best.  Some can be used as bowls, while others are simply display figurines.  These can be verified through paperwork and marks as Fenton Glass.

Victorian Milk Glass Easter Eggs

Vintage Easter Milk Glass Ornaments

Milk glass, named due to its white color, is very popular for vintage Easter ornaments and decorations.  This is doubly true for the vintage Easter egg decorations, which is very sensible since eggs are usually white or off white in color.

For collectors of vintage Easter decor, milk glass is a specialty that has hanging ornaments, as well as vases, figurines and statues, and dishes and bowls.  Milk glass on a table setting can add a very retro look, and mixes well with other colored glass dishes, decorations, and ornaments.

Vintage collectibles for St. Patrick's Day range from porcelain ceramic figurines to Irish coffee mugs trimmed with gold.
