How I Found My Free Family History Program
Thanks. I think other people might like some of the programs that I didn't, but I had specific things I was looking for. There might even be a better one out there than the one I settled on, but I'd rather spend my time on the history, rather ...

Grocery Store Gardening
My mango tree is growing well. It's fun to see it grow even if it doesn't produce good fruit. I have been trying to grow figs from cuttings, but I'm not sure it's taking root. And everyone in the world can grow avocados except me.

You've hit the nail on the head there. It can feel like we're writing in a vacuum, particularly when it takes months or years for a decent amount of pennies to start accumulating. Our fellow writers can encourage and reassure, if only by ...

I love how you've given the pros and cons of each of these programs. I'm curious to trace my own family tree.

Grocery Store Gardening

Remembering the Battle of Flodden 500 Years On
It's one of those butterfly wings of history flapping into a great storm. I'd go for your wedding being symbolic, rather than amusing, if you mention it on the day! And happy wedding anniversary!

Haunted Battlefields: The Ghosts of Flodden
frankbeswick - He could have dismissed Margaret Tudor as a tender hearted woman, who knew nothing of politics. I think that James IV regretted not listening to Mother Mary, when he was dying on Flodden battlefield, in the midst of the worst ...

Haunted Battlefields: The Ghosts of Flodden
cmoneyspinner - It wasn't a matter of friendship. It was a matter of chivalry, which was very important back then. If he didn't come to the aid of the lady, then he wasn't a gentleman and possibly not even a man. (Beyond the biology.) They ...

Remembering the Battle of Flodden 500 Years On
Very interesting look into the chivalry of the battle and some of the history of it. It is amazing how much one battle can change strategies and planning for future battles. Our wedding anniversary is on the same day (a joining of an English ...

I only found the forum a few months ago but now I check in regularly. I've noticed how there were a lot of posts the last couple of years and then nothing recently. I'm making it a goal to read and comment on two Wizzley articles per day- ...

Haunted Battlefields: The Ghosts of Flodden
Yet the king's wife, to whom he had a greater and more lasting commitment than he had to the queen of France, beseeched him not to go to war. Should he not have preferred her counse to that of the queen of France? Let's presume that there is ...
