How to Teach Your Dog to Catch a Flying Disc

My golden catches the Frisbee, runs off with it and chews it to shreds. I guess a cloth one might work better.

The REAL Star Wars Light Saber Is Here And It's Legal To Own For under 400.00! [video]

I'm hinting for Michelle to buy me one of these, if I don't get one for xmas I'll get one for my birthday 2 weeks later haha The saber is so bright you have to wear protective shades to even stare at it's magnificence (unless you record it but it's not as bright then)...

I love antiques. That's a little too formal for me, but I bet your place is going to be beautiful.

Sleeping Beauties: The Victorians and Post-Mortem Photography

Digby - It was your article on mourning rings which inspired this one, hence the link (plus its relevance). Then I was reminded again recently, in Haworth, when I saw all of the mourning jewelry with Charlotte Bronte's hair in it.

It is strange to contemplate doing this today, but it is still being done (see Sam's comment below). I'm quite glad about that. If this is the only picture that you're likely to ever have, then it's still a photograph.

Thank you for the reciprocal link! <3

Ragtimelil - The trouble with early Victorian photographs is that people tend to stare anyway. It's difficult to tell the dead from the living then. I think that it makes a perfect kind of sense.

Sleeping Beauties: The Victorians and Post-Mortem Photography

I think they're very sweet, although the ones with open eyes are a bit strange. I never thought about people doing this, but it would make sense,.

Sleeping Beauties: The Victorians and Post-Mortem Photography

I don't think that I could pose with a dead loved one. Finding the time to have a living photo would probably become a priority if photographers were rare. But I do respect the Victorians and how they dealt directly with death. Thank you for the link to my Wizzle. I will definitely reciprocate!

Sleeping Beauties: The Victorians and Post-Mortem Photography

Shonna - My thoughts are that we're so separated from death in the 21st century, that it adds a layer of weirdness automatically. But I don't think it should be taboo. Fascinating for sure.

Sleeping Beauties: The Victorians and Post-Mortem Photography

I'd really support that charity. I've just looked at their site and the photography there is stunning. I'm glad that photographers like this are prepared to do such work in heart-breaking circumstances.

I think that half of the 'creepiness' factor with Victorian photography is generic. Their clothing and the style of pictures makes it look strange to our eyes anyway.

Sleeping Beauties: The Victorians and Post-Mortem Photography

I've always been fascinated by these sorts of photos and keepsakes. Never quite sure what to think of them, but fascinated for sure.

Sleeping Beauties: The Victorians and Post-Mortem Photography

Actually there is even now a charity dedicated to give parents this kind of keepsake, it is called "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep" (https://www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org/) SY
