humagaia, Ah, yes I to understand the curse of knowledge, thanks for your tutelage in the use of #hashtags to promote articles.
Be well, Mike

Using Pinterest to Promote Your Content

I didn't know what the little red button with the P was untill reading this article. After reading the article on why tweet.
Sharing all the great wizzes I noticed the button, not knowing what it was all about. The first thing that came to mind, was searching wizzley pages for the answer, and here you are. a beacon of light shining the way.
Thanks for sharing the scoop, Mike .

Gorgeous Roasted Garlic Recipe

Excellent article! and I do love garlic in all variations, but can you be a bit more specific with 'hot oven' or does the actual temperature doesn't matter?

Why Tweet?

Mike, as you know I am always willing to explain something I do not realize is not common knowledge, and that I have failed to explain sufficiently in any article. You are welcome always, to ask.
#hashtags are useful although there is less placed on them now, as tweet content is better utilised. That said, if a particular primary 'keyword' does not appear in the main text of a tweet (a title for instance) then a #hashtag with that word is a useful mechanism to attract access to the tweet (and the article URL) by facilities that create a link to, and therefore a backlink for, the article.

Why Tweet?

humagaia, Thanks for explaining the relevance of the wizzley hash tag when using the twitter button on our pages.
I have a better understanding why it is a good thing we tweet pages we not only read, but find of value. Credit to the wizzley community and writer.
Thanks for the explanation, sorry about taking so long to reply, my modem failed.
Best wishes, Mike

How did Sherlock Holmes Survive The Reichenbach Fall?

Sherlock survived. Gandalf the Grey was involved. After a stint as Smaug the dragon, Sherlock will be back. Oh sorry, I think I may be mixing up my franchises based on British novels.

Author Score : Relevant or Irrelevant?

@Sam - good point, well made. I had not thought beyond pure readership. Very remiss of me. I shall not add it into the article, readers will have to find that one in your comment to be made aware.
My view at the moment is that few Wizzley writers, at present, view their articles as curricula vitae for writing gigs. However, the case at Hubpages is different. Being a more established site, with commensurately experienced authors, does mean that article there represent an authors output, showing their capability to fulfill said freelance gigs.
One more to the plus side!
Thanks for that one.

Author Score : Relevant or Irrelevant?

I would also add that having a high author score is important for those that use Wizzley and other, similar, platforms as online portfolios and to get freelance gigs. I am pretty sure that a prospective customer that is looking for somebody to hire is looking also at the author score.

A Beginner's Guide to Getting More Blog Followers

That's an excellent suggestion, thanks Sam. You're absolutely right, people either don't want the hassle of repeatedly checking back or find it diificult to remember which blogs they've commented on. So, adding a plugin to subscribe to the comments is a wonderful solution.

A Beginner's Guide to Getting More Blog Followers

Great article! I would also suggest to add a plugin or similar to your blog that allows readers to subscribe to new comments, I am using this one (it's free) http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/subscribe-to-double-opt-in-comments/ Every time somebody leaves a comment on my blog, s/he can tick a box to receive an email when a new comment, on the same post, is posted. This way it is easier to keep track of online / blog discussions. I personally find it very tedious to make a mental note of a blog I have commented on and check it every few days to see if somebody has replied to my comment ...

Sam aka Hospitalera

Lol Lis, I only blame you for 'dragging me' here, the rest is my own fault. Funny, never thought that hospitalera could be difficult to spell - good point! So perhaps I haven't messed up as badly as I thought ;-) SY
PS I like it here and thanks for insisting that I have to join Wizzley ;-)

Author Score : Relevant or Irrelevant?

@Lizzie - just to clear up my stance on this issue (and to give a little secret away about why I write what I write) I thought I should relate what I learnt very early in my secondary education years. To create a lively debate just state the least popular view and argue the case 'for the defence'. I live for constructive discussions about anything and everything. To encourage debate one must first postulate a question about an understanding, about a particular subject, that has gained popular agreement.
That is what I do. I do not necessarily agree with what I write. I may hold the opposing view. But it is quite stimulating, for me, to see the other side, and look at things from their perspective.
I therefore positively encourage anyone reading articles that I have written, of this type, to give counter-arguments. Thus I thank you for your input, and hope it continues with the 'why' and the 'evidence' that back up your view that the 'author score' is irrelevant.
