As we become wiser about our environment and how to sustain its ecology, we need to make better choices about how we live. One of those choices is the clothing industry that we support by buying clothes that have a positive impact on the earth, leaving it in the same or better condition than before.
With that in mind, bamboo has come to the forefront as one of the best ecological choices to make clothing from. It can be combined with other fibers, or made into cloth by itself, and is surprisingly comfortable and soft to the touch.

I have bamboo bedding, sheets and a blanket. They have really have stood up to washing and wear. They still look like new.
I love the feel of bamboo! It really is soft.
I can second that bamboo fabric is vastly more comfortable than cotton. It's soft and comfy, more absorbent, temperature regulating, and bamboo produces significantly more oxygen per acre than regular forests. It's really great. I'd say the only downsides are that bamboo dries as slowly as cotton, and that it needs to be grown and processed properly in order to be clean and environmentally friendly. I like it a lot, though. Not perfect, but excellent, particularly if you take those issues into consideration.
I'd like to spin some!
