Best Computer Speakers Under 100 dollars in 2012

by top10best

You do not need to fall for the advertising tricks that suggest that the only good PC speakers cost hundreds of dollars. Here are some great options!

If you are on a budget like many people these days, yet still looking to upgrade your PC setup, finding the best computer speakers under 100 dollars may be life changing.

Many consumer level speakers are very affordable. Not to mention, to the untrained ear the major differences between speakers may not even be too noticeable.

With this in mind, I have compiled some of the top computer speakers under 100 dollars that I could find. The “best” speakers are defined by having high user and expert reviews, as well as my own knowledge of these products.

Logitech S120 2.0 multimedia speakers

The first set of speakers that I recommend is very inexpensive, coming in at around $10 dollars. Logitech S120 2.0 multimedia speakers are very good quality considering the price.

While there may be a few problems with these speakers, such as a lack of volume if you are in a large room, the relatively good quality sound to be found at this price range is ultimately very hard to beat. The frequency balance on these speakers is very decent as well. While there are certainly other speakers I could (and will) recommend, I feel that based on price alone these speakers are extremely worthwhile.

Logitech Z313 speaker system

The next step up in terms of price and quality that I would recommend is the Logitech Z313 speaker system. I love Logitech speakers, especially as far as consumer quality sound is concerned.

These speakers have a very sleek aesthetic, and also feature a sub woofer to bring bass frequencies to life in a very natural way. The sound quality of these speakers is much higher than the aforementioned S120 model. Because of the sub woofer, the sound feels much more balanced. The frequencies are not all meshed into two small speakers, but rather diversified across multiple sound channels.

Bose Companion 2 multimedia speakers

As prices edge closer and closer to the hundred-dollar range, I often will recommend a set of Bose Companion 2 multimedia speakers. This is because Bose is a trusted name in music and sound hardware.

More often than not, their speakers run at a high price range, though the development of the Companion 2 speakers has allowed your average consumer to get a hold of great sound quality.  The sound emitted by these speakers is perhaps the best you can get on a $100 dollar budget. Not to mention, the aesthetic appearance of these speakers will fit nicely in virtually any setting.

While many people may seek out a particular brand name of speaker, the reality is that many of the best-rated computer speakers under 100 dollars function at very similar levels. This is because price dictates quality.

The higher in price, the more likely the quality will be better. Of course, this is not always true, especially as you begin to look at speaker models costing hundreds of dollars. As I said earlier though, to the average listener, the differences will be very small.

The only question you now have to ask yourself is this: What speaker system do I want for my computer? Hopefully this information on the best computer speakers under 100 dollars has been useful for you as you seek to answer this question for yourself.
