Zazzle is better than it originally was. Let’s use some Christmas ideas I have added to one of my Zazzle stores.
When I first made products for Zazzle I had difficulty with limitations. Often, I would get warnings about image quality as I tried to make the image larger. Now Zazzle can enhance many images, so they are changed to higher quality. This also allows the images to be larger on the product than was possible before.
I will show several images of Christmas tree skirts that I have on Zazzle, then discuss why a person might want to make changes. Then I will show one of the same designs on other products

If you want sales for a current year I would allow the search engines some time to find your links, but remember that what you add now will be on Zazzle for years to come. So, if you get an idea for Oktoberfest which is over until next year, go ahead and add it, then actively promote it before it actually happens. I would even add a Halloween product now if an idea occurred to me, and wait for the returns. Creativity does not follow a calendar, but item promotion can. If it comes to a choice, I would add Christmas until late November, but even December gives tome for Zazzle. They are fast.
Thank you!
So Halloween I should have started end-September.
Would you start Thanksgiving just afore Halloween or just after?
And would you start Christmas just afore Halloween or just after?
I would think a few weeks. There must be time to put the design on the product, and mailing time. as for how long a search engine takes to find something, that is a guess. I like to give a month.
Your last subheading, Lead a Holiday, advises us that "It is best to create your holiday products ahead of the holiday. This gives the search engines time to find your items. Zazzle is quick in publishing. I usually see results in a few hours or less."
How much in advance of a holiday works best?
I usually promote here and on Hubpages. I am thinking of a YouTube video. Promotion is not my strong suit. Once I have an article I occasionally ping it and use X. Zazzle is cooperative in having links to Pinterest Facebook and X.
Payout in the US is after you earn $50, then allow 30 days for possible returns or cancellations. Then get paid around the 15th of a month. It is a no risk platform, except for time, and I get paid usually once a year, but could get three payouts in a good year. My advice is to not restrict yourself to tee-shirts, but just add to other items. Their big category is weddings, but I have no artist skills to create images for such things as invitations.
You set the royalty, default is 10% and 5 % is the minimum.
Hope this helps, amd if you have more questions just ask.
I've always been impressed by Zazzle affiliates. I have lots of t-shirt ideas that I keep on the back burner, thinking I will do them one day. I'm curious how you promote your products other than here? I will read your getting-started post to learn more.
Good Morning All,
Thanks for this BSG. I had not actually heard of Zazzle. I do not think it must be used generally here in UK. But I do like the idea of Personalised gifts with Christmas on the way. I will nip over to the site now.
The person owns the design, and can place it on any product. If the seller does not have the design on something else a inquiry can often lead to having it done. I refused once, but the product was postage stamps. Yes, Zazzle allowed postage stamp design, but the design had to obtain post office approval. I felt the design would not be approved, and would be inappropriate.
The third subheading, Can the Design from One Item Be Used on Other Items?, ends with the observation that "Remember, if you ask the person who created the design it might be possible to put that design on another product."
Is that permission official like a copyright or unofficial and perhaps subject to change?
