Coastal Christmas Ornaments With Your Photos and Custom Text

by dustytoes

Personalized keepsake ornaments with tropical and coastal themes for families, new baby, first married Christmas, and new home.

When the holiday season is just as warm and sunny as any other summer day, people in warm climates will decorate for the holidays in alternative ways. For that reason, I am filling up my Holiday Store with custom, coastal themed ornaments.

As the holiday season approaches, people begin to plan how to decorate their homes and traditionally that will include a tree. Some people will not allow a fake tree into their homes and others hate the mess of real pines, but no matter, whatever your choice, it will be decorated in some way.

Bows, feathers, ribbons, driftwood, and other unusual items can be part of the tropical decor, but custom ornaments are the best choice for telling a story. From pictures of the kids as they grow, to wedding celebrations or new home memories, personalized ornaments are a favorite decoration.

Seashell, Sand Dollars and Starfish

Beaches, turquoise water and seashell collecting are all a big part of a tropical lifestyle.  We've all seen real seashells turned into painted angels and other images with ribbons attached to hang.  Sand dollars supply the perfect flat surface, and work well as a canvas for artists.

Starfish are beautiful all on their own and double as Christmas stars at holiday time.

Traditional Red and Green

Round, ceramic hanging ornament has same image and date on both sides.

Beach Shells

Christmas greeting on black with a collection of pretty beach shells, with more text on the back.

Welcome a New Baby at Christmas

new babyThe first Christmas for the new addition to the family should be commemorated with a new baby ornament for the holiday tree.

It may be tough to choose only one sweet image.  Siblings can be part of the picture, or use a picture of the whole family together.

The metal framed decoration (below) has a photo template in the center which is surrounded by traditional green holly and starfish.  A pretty red ribbon is supplied for hanging.

Family Photo Ornament

This template also has two lines of custom text. Add the baby's birth date and his or her name.

Our New Home Commemorated

our new homeWhat is more fun than decorating a brand new home for the first holiday season?  Setting up the tree in the front window and stringing lights around the windows is all new.  Maybe you have considered this when buying your new home, and now it's time to put your decorating plans into action.

Now there is a mailbox to tie a big ribbon onto, and the front porch is a great place to display boughs of holly.  Maybe a new wreath will adorn the front door, and a village scene will play out on the fireplace mantle.

The first Christmas in our new home ornament (below) is a combination of dark wood grain and two sand dollars.  Customize with text on both sides.  Include the year date on the front, and family names and house address on the back.

A New Home For The Holidays

Our First Christmas Together

Newlyweds will appreciate a photo ornament keepsake that celebrates their first married Christmas, and they will appreciate it more as time goes by.  This makes a great gift for couples as well.

Whether you were just married, or are spending the holidays together as boyfriend and girlfriend, this decoration allows for custom text that would work either way.

In later years the kids will get a kick out of seeing mom and dad as they looked on wedding day, and the ornament is sure to be one of the all time favorites.

Commemorate a Family Reunion or Holiday Vacation

This ornament is for families, or couples, who take a trip at holiday time.  For those big families, jetting off to a warm location for a happy reunion, this item would be a nice keepsake for everyone.  Personally, I don't have much family, but a Christmas family reunion sounds like a fantastic idea.  Forgo the big gifts, and give the gift of a fun time!

Single families often travel at holiday time, and there is nothing wrong with taking a vacation instead of celebrating traditionally.  This is especially important if there is tension between the relatives.  Those who are tired of all the drama, can enjoy an escape to a sunny beach.

Turquoise Ocean and Beach Sand

Make it a Special Celebration

Time flies as many of us already realize, and the time to make special memories is now.  Each year of our lives brings a variety of happy events, and what better way to reminisce than at the annual tree decorating.  Pulling the ornaments out of their boxes has always been a special time for my family.  I hope you enjoy the unique tropical themed items on this page.  Find more like this, and also non-tropical choices, as well as cards, envelopes and wrapping paper, at the online Holiday Store at Zazzle.

Personalized and dated ornaments are really becoming more popular than ever at Christmas. The ones that commemorate an event that happened in the past year are really special.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I do sell wedding favor ornaments and when I lived in Florida I decorated with tropical themed ornaments. They have many uses, as you have mentioned.

These are beautiful. Even people in colder climates might like a nice beach-themed ornament to remind them of summer vacations, or summers at their beach house.

So lovely! I think these keepsakes can serve as precious wedding favors as well, especially for destination weddings, nautical and beach themes. Simple and effective - love it!

You have ideas for personalizing the ornaments that I had never heard of. Some of my favorite ornaments to look at each season are the ones that have memories on them.

I like the photo ornaments too. I wish I could have made something like this back when my kids were little.

I like the idea of these personalized ornaments. In the past, I've bought some with my daughter's name but a photo one would be nice to send to close family members. I really like the design mix of the holly and starfish.
