For those of us who work at a desk for hours every day, our office can be a second home (or maybe a first home). For many people, that means needing to have a comfortable, well lit, and pleasant place to work.
For my office environment, I like to be able to read my papers and work clearly in the light of a desk lamp, because a desk lamp provides closer lighting that does not reflect off of my computer screen and my glasses the way overhead fluorescent lighting does. My tastes run more towards a contemporary desk lamp because I like simple lines and colors, and they are easier to dust (one of my least favorite activities).

I totally agree with Mira - I like the bankers lamps best, too., They look a lot like the lamp on my own desk, but mine is actually a piano lamp

Great idea to do an article on desk lamps. I like the Banker's ones myself! The Addessos are pretty functional too! Maybe both :-)
