In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, oil and/or margarine, and vanilla sugar. You will then have a bowl of yummy, sugary, crumbs. Scoop out 1 cup of crumbs, and put aside for the topping.
Next, crack open the three eggs, beat them smooth, and pour it into the crumbs mixture that is in the large mixing bowl. Then add the dessert whip, and mix well. Pour the batter into a 9 x 13 pan, spread the cup of reserved crumbs on the top, and bake at 350 degrees, uncovered, for 45 minutes.
You can also put a can of pie filling in the center, transforming it into delicious pie instead of a crumb cake.

The following recipe is divided into three phases: Crust, Filling and Topping. The crust and topping are very quick. The main recipe is the filling.
Crust
Crush the graham crackers into fine crumbs. You can use a blender or your clean hands for this purpose. I prefer to put them into a plastic Ziploc bag and use any hard utensil or spoon to crush it. Because the crackers are in the bag, it does not touch any utensils. This keeps the whole operation clean.
After crushing the crackers into crumbs, combine it with the soft margarine, to form a crust.
Gently pat the crust into a 9 x 13 baking pan, or a round baking pan of similar dimensions.
You now have a crust. Go on to the filling directions below.
Filling
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese with a mixer until smooth. Add the sugar, flour, lemon juice, lemon rind or vanilla, and beat until all ingredients are well blended. Then, add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each egg is added.
Pour the mixture on top of the graham cracker crust, and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
When the cake is done, let it cool, and firm up. Refrigerate ‘till eating time. Don't forget the topping below.
Topping
Serve the above cheese cake with the cherries on top. Use the cherry pie filling, drained of its liquid.
