Cute Gifts for Travelers for Under $25

by Mira

If you have friends and family who like to travel, here are some Christmas gift ideas.

I was browsing the Christmas coundown sale on Zazzle today (they offer up to 60% off), and found some nice affordable gifts for travelers.

Zazzle items don’t always come cheap, but I managed to find some under $25, since that’s what a lot of people look for when it comes to gifts for friends, acquaintances, and extended family. What’s great about these items is that you can personalize them. You can tweak the design or use a completely different image. Or you can browse on the site for more custom-made and customizable gifts.

Tote Bags

Tote bags are always a nice idea: very useful, fun, and a good place to make a statement. This budget Paris tote with “Paris is always a good idea” is one of the first travel items I found when browsing the travel gifts on Zazzle today.

But since this is about “cute” travel gifts, here’s another Paris product: a mug in faux marble with a rose-colored Tour Eiffel, Arc de Triomphe, and Moulin Rouge windmill.

Turtles Mug

I like these turtles and the way they travel in a line. They remind me of some families that walk slowly, kids in tow – and I mean “closely following,” which I’ve always wondered about: shouldn’t the parents always walk behind their toddlers? They also remind of hordes of tourists waiting patiently in ticket lines.

Anyway, I think this would make a nice gift. I was actually watching a woman at Starbucks the other day eyeing a travel mug; I was thinking how appealing it is to keep changing them. You can get this design easily transferred onto a travel mug -- but if commuter mugs aren’t your thing, or you have no need for them, you can get a regular mug.

Happy Campers

If you know some happy campers – whether they do the RV thing or not --, chances are they would like this keychain. I love the illustration.

This artist, Richard Neuman, has other designs as well. His thing seem to be vintage campers. So if you know an RV enthusiast, these might be great gifts for them this Christmas. Richard Neuman is art1st on Zazzle. You can check out his store here. I see he also designed the occasional truck, tractor, and construction vehicle.

Follow Your Heart

This is a simple one, but very effective. My eye was drawn immediately to the design. The idea feels a little corny, but it’s endearingly so. So I’ll include it here. Fridge magnets are also a good idea for gifts. Sometimes you don’t know what to get certain people. Well, once you know they like fridge magnets or mugs, it all becomes easy. As you may have offered them mugs in the past . . . you got it, vary it a little.

Luggage tags are also a great idea for a traveler. They might prefer to have a solid one to use on all their travels but haven't got around to get one yet. Do try this as a gift. You might be surprised to find out they will use it on their next travel. I found one with passport stamps, which I quite enjoy.

Playing Cards

People who travel might enjoy a spare pair of poker cards, to play with the new buddies on the road, in youth hostels, by a camping fire, etc. The cute thing about this set is that you can use it as is, with the owl, or you can custom-make it, using whatever image you want for the back.

Mira, My goodness, this is such a charming article, and it would be so welcome during the Christmas countdown sale as a way of helping shoppers to get beyond sensory overload in trying to determine where to start in looking for such deals.
The turtle travel mug is lovely, as are all of the selections you've made.
I can appreciate this article, even though it's long after Christmas 2014.

Yes, that was the idea, to find gifts which won't burn a (big) hole in your budget.

At this point when the economy is down and inflation high, you want to save every penny; these gifts certainly qualify - cute and affordable.
