New Age Candy Apple Recipe

Simple Ingredients and How to Make

Candy Apple New Age

1 medium peeled Granny Smith apple
1/4 teaspoon sugar-free or regular cherry-flavored gelatin
2 tablespoons diet or regular cherry cola
2 tablespoons thawed frozen nondairy whipped topping (reduced or non-fat can be used)

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS

  1. Slice apple crosswise into 1/4-inch-thick slices; remove seeds. Place stack of apple slices in small microwavable bowl; sprinkle with gelatin. Pour cola over slices.
  2. Cover loosely with waxed paper. Microwave on HIGH 2 minutes or until liquid is boiling. Allow to stand, covered, 5 minutes. Arrange rings on dessert plate. Serve warm with whipped topping.
Note:
This recipe can be doubled or tripled easily. To cook 2 apples at a time, increase cooking time to 3-1/2 minutes. To cook 3 apples at a time, increase cooking time to 5 minutes.
Tip:
This recipe works great with any apple. A Jonathan apple or a Red Delicious apple will do just fine. Choose your favorite apple and enjoy!

Thank you for these. Desserts are not my best things usually because I put lots of effort into the main course and forget dessert until it's too late. So it tends to be ice cream. But these are fab ideas and would be impressive too.

These seem to be simple and tasty recipes. I usually have cake mixes and canned pie fillings on hand for 'emergency' desserts!
