Football Gender Reveal Party

by Janet21

A unique gender reveal celebration for sports minded expectant couples.

This football themed gender reveal party was hosted by Jackie and her husband Andy. Jackie was kind enough to share all of the party photos and details with me and I am so excited for all of you to see how amazing this party turned out.

Some of the party items included a fun football field scoreboard, custom drink bottle labels and an adorable cake with teddy bears and football helmets. To add to the excitement they hosted the party on the Saturday before Super Bowl Sunday. What the guests didn't know is that their was an even bigger surprise coming...Jackie and her husband were having twins! Only Jackie, her husband and her mom knew this.

Gender reveal parties have grown in popularity these last few years and expectant couples are throwing parties with unique themes. A gender reveal party generally consists of the guests placing their "vote" for a boy or girl. Then at the end of the celebration a cake is usually cut to reveal the babies gender which is a surprise for everyone including the expectant couple.

The Scoreboard

Place Your Vote! Will the baby be a Boy or a Girl?

gender revealJackie created an amazing football field scoreboard for the guests to place their votes.   She used Cricut cartridges to make the helmets, footballs and letters.   Each pink or blue football had the name of the person voting and the scoreboard doubled as a fun raffle for the guests. Right before the big gender reveal, Jackie pulled the footballs off the scoreboard and dropped each set into separate pink or blue bags.   Everyone on the winning team had a chance to win the raffle which was a $25 movie gift card.  That was how she announced the twins surprise.  After Baby #1's gender was revealed she told the guests they still had a chance to win the raffle. (The Scoreboard totals were 47-27 Boy.)

The centerpieces were created by Jackie and her friend Liz of Created with Love.   Liz placed pink & blue Oreo truffle pops in baskets filled with Easter basket grass. They also bought brown teddy bears and tied pink or blue ribbons around their necks.  Then they attached little footballs on their lap,  in one hand or in both hands as if the teddy was holding the football.   They leaned the teddy bears next to the baskets.

They decorated with balloons and banners and scattered pink and blue teddy bear confetti on the tables.  The tables also included "tickets" to the Pink vs. Blue showdown (the tickets looked like the labels on the Powerade drinks pictured below).

Name The Baby

gender reveal partyJackie had a Name That Baby box for the guests to drop in their baby name suggestions.  Jackie and her husband had a lot of fun to reading the names after the party and they saved them for the boys to see when they're older.

The Name That Baby box was placed next to the Scoreboard.   It was a white box decorated with a pink football helmet and blue football helmet.

Some of the baby name suggestions included Andy, Anthony, Jackson, Joshua, Nicholas, Jason, Brandon, Jackson and Nikko.

I've been to lots of these lately. They are a lot of fun. Not quite a baby shower, but all about babies. It's unique to have all the guys there as well.
