An EXCITING Email - Can You IMAGINE?

This is too great to not be shared...

Let me first say that with a billion rvers out there, the likelihood of this happening is oh....er.....um.....like winning the lottery.

Anyway, I received an email today from TLC about an upcoming show they are doing on 3-4 rv families. They found our rving blog and contacted us via email. It was quite detailed and seemed pretty official, so I played ball and replied, asking questions, etc. In return I received the TLC application and all steps I need to provide to be considered (no, no one asked for money or private info).

Jim and I absolutely cracked up when we pictured this scenario inside our "simple" rv, complete with rv cat and dog. Can you imagine?

Anyway, you only live once...gotta try...so off to "work" I go answering their questions about our lifestyle, etc. Just had to share...good for a laugh, absolutely...

Wow!  Fame at last!

The application I'm working on is really quite fun. I love the questions. If I don't get picked, maybe I'll make a Wizzley out of my answers! :)

And if you DO win, you are doing a wizzley or two about it also, right?

Got the application done and sent it with requested pics late last night...have to do the brief video this weekend.

Read more and discovered this is for a PILOT and (if successful) it would become an rv show. They cover every other reality-thingy out there, why not rvers?

It's funny...Jim and I were talking last night and agreed, when something like this just appears, you HAVE to try it. But if we actually got it? We would have to truly think about it, now that the dust has settled. There are shows that can be done with taste and are actually interesting...then there are those shows that are just disgusting. We don't have a tv, nor have we watched it since 2009 except when visiting family..but we are still connected via the news, etc. and know what's out there...couldn't contribute to the "ick."

For now, just felt right to give it a try! It's nice to have something fun/surprising pop up.

I don't watch reality tv, but if you are on the RV show I will watch for sure!  Start practicing signing autographs...!! hahaha..

 Something like this would not only make my day, it would make a whole year or maybe 10 for me. It couldn't happen to a nicer person. Don't forget your Wizzley friends when  you're rich and famous.

Ahhh, if they only didn't have the video requirement for this...

I tell you what...

The writer in me? No problem with the extensive written application, elaborating on why we are doing what we are doing. Pages long, without effort.

Oh but if you could only see us today trying to videotape (part 2 of the application). We look like complete idiots...at least we are laughing as we do it. But we do, truly, look like morons. If anyone placed their bets on us getting this gig, time to rethink and save your money!

To make it worse, the winter weather jumped to nearly 60 degrees here, and I have terrible allergies to Illinois humidity, wind, etc....so where my eyes used to be are now two gigantic, saggy atrocities. I look like I've been up for 72 hours. Oh well....if it is meant to be, it will happen. As we've said, if we actually got it, it would be scary because we want peace and quiet, not reality tv! Would be a compliment to be chosen, but do we want such an interruption in our lives? We are wallflowers, and sorta like it that way.

We really have had fun putting all of this together....that is what is truly most important. Never laughed so hard as we did today. Cut! Cut! Over and over....

We got our dog Hannah on video today and she immediately peed for the camera...too perfect! Guess that is reality tv! Lots of laughs, even if we are quite convinced that we aren't going to be picked...and that's ok.

Most camcorders have a wide angle, so don't go too close to the lens or you will be distorted / exaggerated. If you are not looking good, let the animals tells the story, cats and dogs are always cute, and you are the narrator in the background or far away from the camera. Just two tips, SY
