There is an interesting forum thread elsewhere about the possibility of being banned from Pinterest if you post too many of your own articles, or perhaps too many from any one site. So I'm being really careful nowadays, because Pinterest seems to draw a lot of traffic here. Losing it would be terrible.

Hi Jo, it seemed to be either a glitch or a site-wide ban, but the end result was that everyone's pins from that site were gone. The problem is now resolved, but it was frightening. The recommended advice was pin in a ration of 10 to 1, with the lower number being your pins. I'm pinning much more carefully now. |

Hi younghopes, I've been very careful too. I was pinning a lot, but usually not my own. I was trying to keep to a 10 to 1 ratio. |

Wow! Never heard of that and all I seem to do is pin my own stuff. There's the odd thing for recipes and beauty that I'll pin others' but not for the history side of things. Guess I'll have to take it a little easier. Thanks for the heads up. |

The idea makes sense because pinning from a variety of sources ensures content which is more appealing to the visitors -- and that ultimately benefits you/us. |

No problem. I just wanted to alert everyone so no one has problems. |

I usually pin lots from other places, but I didn't know the 10-1 thing. Thanks! |

You're welcome. I had seen someone post that somewhere, and tried to follow it. |
