Gmail's new look- what do you think of it?

What do you think about gmail's new look?

I logged in to find that it was automatically applied, but I temporarily reverted back to the old look.

Now I don't see an option to go back to the new look, and I'm not sure when it will be mandatory.

(I am accustomed to the old look, so it'll take time to adjust to the new look)

Not much! Hubby was very unimpressed too!

I'm not sure why google think it is better than the old interface. I haven't played around much in it but it actually looks visually less appealing to me than before.

Yes! I also feel that the old look was better on my eyes. I was given an option later to go back to the new look again, and now I'm trying out different themes to see what's best with the new look, because the new look will soon be required. I've tried the high contrast, and certain colors. Trying to find the best one. Let me know what you find to be best on the eyes.
