Happy 12-12-12

Well today is 12-12-12 month twelve, day  twelve and year 2012 

What do you think is going to happen today or in regard to this month in general regarding the doomsday theories???

Well, I don't believe that stuff and the day is almost over here 

I'm with you Brandon BUT I'm hoping for something good to happen!

It's a pretty cool date.    Lot's of weddings today I think.

I don't believe the world will be ending on the 21st (isn't it?) either.

Yes those who subscribe to it say it's the 21st.

Sue,that is good news, see I knew something good would happen today 

But it wasn't 12-12-12 it was 12-12-2012 so what's the deal?

We've had one of those every year for the past 12 years - 1-1-1, 2-2-2, 3-3-3, 4-4-4, 5-5-5, 6-6-6, 7-7-7, 8-8-8, 9-9-9, 10-10-10, 11-11-11 an now 12-12-12 - but are we celebrating that we will not have another one for another 88 years (ie the last one any of us will see)?

As for the apocalypse and the Mayan 'prediction' - there is, has not been, and never was a Mayan prediction for the 'end of days'. The date of 21st December 2012 is purely the end of their current calendar cycle. The 13th is the start of their next calendar cycle - that's it folks!!!! Stop worrying the end of days will come long after the end of your days!

We did a Wizzley on "is the world ending in 2012" and yes...agreed it isn't likely, nor do we put much stock in odd dates, Mayans, etc...

But I tell ya, when I think of what my grandfather's childhood was like (passed away in 2010) - what his world looked like/his reality not even 100 years ago...then look at how the world was up to that point, it doesn't concern anyone that we are moving too fast in one little microsecond of time?

I like to visualize in most cases, so let's use a balloon.

Every thousand years, one little breath was put into the balloon. In the last 100 years, it has been a breath every second...and the balloon is about to pop. Not saying it is the apocalypse or the complete "end of times" - but feel strongly that technology and advancements in a short span of time will put us back to a simpler time at a minimum.

It's so easy in modern times to think it has always been like this...but not even close. There are people still alive who would tell you that what they've witnessed in their brief 100 years is frightening.
