I'm leaving for CA today to visit my kids. My flight is at 6:25. I show up at 5:30 this morning, and learn that the flight is at 6:25 this evening.
Have you ever done this? | |

No, but I had a friend who worked long hours for a newspaper. She left at 6pm exhausted. Got home and fell asleep and woke up at 7 thinking it was am. She grabbed a coffee and rushed back to the paper only to find it closed....It was pm the same day.... Lana or LIl aka Ragtimelil RagtimeLil's Store on Weebly

That's a good one Lil. When I was teaching, I went to work one day and discovered the parking lot was empty. After a minute, I realized it was a holiday. That's okay Jo. My brother and I have been laughing about it all day. Brenda Reeves

I wrote a wizzle about being time challenged. I guess that is as good as saying you are not alone with this kind of mistake. Did you go back home or wait it out? That may seem like a dumb question, but I live about a five to ten hour drive from an airport (depending on which airport I fly out of). If I were to confuse the am/pm thing, I'd have to hang out at the airport or thereabouts. I'm visiting my son and family right now. It's great to be together. I hope you enjoy your visit, Brenda. I once had a boyfriend meet me at the airport when I flew back to Israel from Canada. My flight landed at 2 in the morning. I got the time right but the day wrong. I landed the NEXT morning. He wasn't sure he wanted to drive all the way back to the airport and felt like just leaving me standing there wondering what was going on. What made it even funnier was that my ex was there to pick up the girls. A day earlier as well. Can you imagine what those two men were saying about me? |

Friends of ours had a flight to Mexico for a vacation a few years ago, and they got there in the afternoon to wait for the evening flight....only to find out that the flight had been that morning! So they had to pay extra to book a flight the next morning. Karen

Well, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I'm in the Phoenix airport right now waiting for my connecting flight to Sacramento. Sheila, my brother dropped me off at the airport this morning, so I had to call him to come and get me. He had a friend who worked for Delta years ago. His friend said that people do this all the time. They would have people show up on the wrong day for overseas flights. I find traveling to be very stressful.. Brenda Reeves

Brenda - have fun! And try to be on-time for the flight home! You all have such great stories. Look what I've missed out on by not traveling! |
