How much to promote updated Wizz

I finally got inspired to update some of my articles. My question is, how much should I promote an updated article? I don't want to annoy anyone by overdoing it, but how else would anyone know it had been updated?

I wouldn't promote it on Wizz, because people on here have already read it. Although there are a lot of new people. One way to do it would be to post it on chatter explaining it has been revised and people who want to read it can.

I think that just updating an article helps it.  Jo wrote about that on her advice after 200 Wizzleys page.

I would say to tweet it, but recently I've stopped tweeting my own articles each day (only one or 2 throughout the day) because I read that it might not be a good idea to promote yourself.

Hmmm.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. I've heard you can ping them again if they have substantial changes.

I think tweeting is the perfect way to let people interested in your work keep up with you. I mean that's why they follow you.

But I would only tweet major revisions or the addition of new information.

Thanks. I added two or three new modules and cleaned it up a bit so I guess that would count?

It depends if they were significant and interesting. When you tweet, give an idea of what was done, so they can decide if they want to investigate or not. Like a news update.

Oh excellent idea. I'm not much for twitter, but I'm trying to get better. I did say it was an update, but I could have said what it was about. Thanks for that tip!!!!

First of all I would add a text module explaining what part of the article has been updated - for the hasty reader.

Second, promotion is all about where your readership is, not where you think they should be ...

Hah, now I never thought of doing that. I haven't seen any like that so didn't cross my mind. But good idea! I'm a bit of a hasty reader myself at times.

And good point about the followers. I just looked at my newest and the pie chart was cut into 6 equal pieces. First time I've seen that. It's usually been between Wizzley and StumbleUpon.
