I'm writing a page about class conflict and want to discuss the Poll tax and Strangeways (that's a prison for those of you who are not from the UK) riots of 1990. I know that Google have strict guidelines about what is and is not acceptable content for their ads. Obviously I know that there is no Adsense on Wizzley at the present time, but I don't want to write anything that may jeopardise Wizzley's chances of getting adsense back. Would it be appropriate to write such an article?

Is this in anticipation of the inevitable Poll Tax Riots of 2013? Attempted three times in Britain. The first resulted in The Peasants' Revolt; the second was 1990... I remember it well; and now it's coming back again. Joy. I hope you can write about it, as I'd love to read your perspective on those times. My stuff: A Writer's Guide to Wizzley | Beautiful Britain!

The topic should be okay. AdSense can NOT be shown on pages with text and images depicting violence, blood, corpses, torture, etc. Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

Jo, you read my mind- poll tax riots mark 2. I fear history will repeat itself :)
Thanks Chef, I'll make sure that I omit anything that might be deemed as gratuitous violence. :) |

I can't imagine that this would cause a problem unless you're focusing more on the details of violence than on the history and circumstances surrounding the riots. I'd imagine that their intentions of the guideline were not to discourage historical articles but rather, to prevent articles glorifying violence or presenting or depicting excessive violence for its own sake. |

Thanks, I just wanted to be sure- I'm not familiar (although I know I should be) with Google's TOS. |

Alex - unfortunately, you're mistaken. AdSense don't care too much about context. (That's exactly why we're in a bind, right now.) Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

Does that mean that I should rejoin Chitika and not make anything while my dreams of adsense fade away after I made a whole $5? |

Sheri - I don't understand what you mean. Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

Sorry for my poor English, Achim - I meant to ask if we are going to get Adsense back any time soon (I made a big $5 with it in the short time I was signed up), because if not, then I guess I have to go back to Chitika where I didn't make anything at all in the longer time I was signed up there. Did I make myself clear this time? |

Actually, we're expecting an answer from AdSense pretty soon. Tomorrow, maybe? You guys will be the first to know. Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.
