Just Curious and Looking for help

I was just wondering how the site is doing as a whole? My traffic is well, near nothing I'd be happy to see it past 10 views a day and I don't blame anyone as my pages weren't written too well. However, now that I was moving a lens here I realized that the category I was going to post in is totally empty (0 articles).

So, apart from looking for details on how the site is doing as a whole (your personal traffic ups and downs I mean) I was wondering if there were any other writers who would be interested in writing about Physics related topics? I'll begin writing a few later this month and it would be really cool to have more in the category as traffic would flow well.

I would certainly be interested in seeing the traffic figures/graph for the overall site traffic - similar to those we can see at Quantcast for some other sites - be good if Chef/Simon and the team could share that.

For myself I would say that since I got active again my traffic has been steadily increasing and I am seeing lots of search based traffiic starting to happen - with one or two odd queries like "minecraft cakes" which I haven't got a clue about Tongue Out At a quick glance I would say my traffic is coming in at between 400 - 800 per day.

In terms of generating the traffic I tend to do some initial promotion using Twitter, Facebook, Scoop, Pinterest and if I remember Stumbleupon.

I don't know if that was what you were looking for but that's my take on your post Laughing

Yup that does help :) My traffic used to be at around 80 - 100 before and now it's 9 - 15 a day and that's why I was curious. Haha minecraft cakes may be cake accessories related to the game.

I think Scoop. It really helps as the search engines seem to really love it at the moment.

Maybe I should make some pages about minecraft cakes then LOL or even minecraft

Yeah, I've heard about Scoop.it quite a bit, but then again I don't have the time for such social stuff at present so never bothered much about it.

Scoop.it isn't really a social site as such - it's more along the lines of redgage and they have also developed an ipad app. In fact they are getting increasingly similar to Flipboard.  Let me share an example and you will see what I mean: Top Toys 2013

You simply add content/pages using a bookmarklet and you can also suggest content to other scoops that you follow.

Yes a little bit except you can create your own content pages (scoops) 5 from memory on the free version and 10 on the paid for - with the paid for you get more options for customisation as I have done with Whovian

Hi Brandon - I have 51 published pages and recently am getting approx. 150 views a day.  It's come down a bit from a few months ago, but I have not been actively publishing here lately as I am busy elsewhere.

Sorry, but I can't help AT ALL with the physics writing!!!  Cry

I'm no Physicist, but I do have this one sitting in Post-Medieval History.  I could move it across, if it would help.

As for traffic, I had 897 hits yesterday, but the seven days before were generally around 600-700.  Over the Christmas period, 1000 plus daily hits was the norm.

Ooh that article is probably one your first one here. I've been following you from when you were around 50 pages and have never seen that unless it was on a day I didn't check the list of articles by people you follow (Happens very rarely).

It suits the medieval section perfectly though Laughing Your stats are visible through your milestone pages and they're pretty amazing

Thanks Janet!  It's a standing joke here too that every one of my articles registers Minecraft Cakes in the search terms. <3

Brandon - Thanks for reading my stuff. :)   That article was fun to do, particularly when I was asking Liam, with an utterly straight face,'So, did the witches cause it?'  and him in Physicist mode too. LOL  But he was a good sport.  I've tried luring him here as a writer before, which would solve your problem.  He claims that he's too busy with his Master's.

If we're all getting the over-spill, you must be raking in the traffic!
