Latest version of Firefox vs. internet explorer 8

What’s the deal; I cannot post comments in the forum at wizzley while using the Firefox browser. I get this red ribbon above the text area that says I have exceeded the allowed number of characters of 10.000 or something. When in fact I check with my computer running latest version of windows 7, installed spell check, the thing tells me the post only has 200 or so characters, at any rate far less than the 10.000-stated cut off.

The thing that has me scratching my head, shutting down Firefox and firing up the old IE8 browser, I can post the same comment, no problems other than the same old IE stuff, IE has stopped working, page cannot be found etc. crap.

FYI, I use screen reader magnifier software ZoomText 10 on my laptop, running in 32bit, as the software is not stable in 64bit, and will not work with the Google chrome browser.

Thanks for your help, Mike

Hmm, that shouldn't happen.. which version Firefox are you using? I'm posting this answer with Firefox 24.0.

Simon I’m not sure what version I downloaded, I simply searched for the latest version of Firefox, and downloaded the windows 32-bit version. How do I go about finding out which version I am using?

There must be some incredibly huge chunk of code embedded as HTML or CSS. Maybe caused by a browser extension or something alike. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about it without actually seeing it. It doesn't seem to be a common problem, otherwise we should get more bug reports ... so I assume it's got something to do with your system ... but I don't have a clue right now :-/
