Hi guys I was wondering If we can create links from our Wizzley pages to other rev share sites like lenses and hubs? If yes what is the max number of links that are allowed? Do you do in text anchor links or use the link module to create a mix of internal and external links?

yes you can - after 5 Wizzley articles are approved (to stop spammers).

However, have you thought why you want to?

Your articles will have no reputation on Wizzley when you start out, so they will not pass any reputation on. If you want the traffic flow, for what reason ? Does your hub or lens have affiliate links? In which case why not just create a Wizzley article that links direct to the affiliate program.

Google is moving away from linking signals. Go with that flow and forget the old hat SEO backlink c..p. Make every effort to brand yourself and to give G author signals that increase your brand.

Hi humagaia thank your for the reply. My wizzley articles get more views than my lenses and hubs. I was thinking about linking to them to give them a little boost in search engine traffic and at the same time my wizzley articles might get a little boost because they would be linking to relevant content. I am currently concentrating on the social side of the business since from what I read G is giving more importance to the social signals with every algo update more than on traditional seo (backlinks).

That is the buzz! It is thought that G is moving to author rather than individual content rank. If you have a good reputation with a lot of psitive social buzz then anything you write from then on should have a better chance in the serps than something written by someone with no reputation.

As far as interlinking - since it is you doing it, and G is likely to know this, the amount of reputation you pass from one to another will be limited (or at least G will limit it). However, if you want to associate similar content to your overall brand then there may be some positive impact in the long run, as long as both articles are top quality.

Your best bet is to generate some social signs and hope that a buzz ensues. I would tweet all your articles regularly, but at different times of day - tweeting just once is like placing a stone into a lake - it will make very little ripples. What you need to do is tweet as if you want great waves to ensue. And for them to break on shores far from where the rocks were chucked in.

Have a look at my Twitterfeed article to get an idea of how you can do this with little more effort than doing it once.

It is now also imperative to utilize G+, as much of G's idea of what buzz is associated with you will come from there.

Interesting idea about using twitter. I usually tweet my articles only once and get little if any feedback. As for G+ I started using it when the rel="author" thing started to buzz. I still use it but it has been hard to grow my profile since I keep family and offline friends out of my articles to avoid them "helping me with adsense" I will try adding my favorite authors from rev share sites. Maybe some of them add me back. At least that is many times how people behave in twitter.

Great question and all good answers.  I used the search box for the forum and hit upon the exact topic I was looking for.  Been writing for Squidoo for a couple of years.  Just published my first wizzley article a few days ago.  First I wanted to link my wizzley article back to my Squidoo lens. But there are some funky things going on internally with Squidoo's system and when I edit and try to republish I get "colorful pick the magic box" response. I love Squidoo.  Don't get me wrong.  I don't want to leave.  I just want to utilize other publishing platforms and build my online reputation.

RE:  Google leaning toward the authorship thing?  When Google first started the PLUS thing, I was invited to participate in the testing.  I have a Google Plus profile.  I don't think it's quite fair to use the authorship for ranking.  It could count.  But how much weight to attach to is is the question.  What about people who don't have a G+ account or profile but they still write good material.  Do they have to hope their links can be found if people use YAHOO and Bing?  I love Google too!  I'm just saying.  I know there's thieving going on and people want their intellectual property guarded.  I understand that.

Anyway ...This ranking, this SEO business, this backlink here, don't follow link there, filtering, spamming ... it's annoying!!!  These people are the GEEKS!  I'm not a geek.  i'm not a tech-key person.  Now if this is a "The geeks shall rule the earth" show of who run the world?  IT SUCKS!!!

Anyway, I'm going to share some of the links to my Squidoo lenses at Wizzley and vice versa.  Cause I don't know what the search engine gods are thinking or planning - but I know what's in my head! Cool
