Question about link count

I recently found in settings the link to advertise Wizzley. Most of my articles can handle another link and be under the link per fifty words rule, but a few are close.  I do not wish to sit and count words, but would like to ad this link.  Is it counted like an affiliate link?  I believe it would be viewed by the search engines as an update, which gets a traffic bounce.  And in the selling season, now through just past Christmas, getting more traffic is a good thing.  

The referral link may not be inserted on Wizzley itself. It may only be used on external pages.
