I've just received two identical cheques in the post from Amazon. Cheque number, amount, date, everything absolutely the same on both letters.
Weirdness!
Naturally I won't attempt to cash them both.

Yes, how strange is that? Ha! I can't imagine how the system let the second check be made. |

I emailed amazon and they advised they were aware of the "issue" and to cash one cheque (although they spelt it wrong as check) and shred the other |

Ha! U.S. spellings. The fun of having worldwide income streams. Having lived in both the US and Canada, I feel a bit dyslexic spelling-wise. I never know which one to use. Read one of my books Sheila's Books

sheilamarie: 05/09/2013 - 12:48 PM So true! I find myself frequently missing letters out of words like favourite because we write so much for the US market A friend of mine made a comment a few months ago that went along the lines of "my dear chap there is no such thing as American English. There is English and there are those who constantly make mistakes" I of course couldn't possibly comment - said in my very best Francis Urquhart voice. |

Yes, I received on Friday 2 identical checks as well. I simply scraped the one and deposited the other one. |

Jo, my boss about p'd herself laughing when I told her. I'm in the business of generating figures for cheques (or USD checks) in the day job, and she thought it was rather funny that a firm the size of Amazon would have a mess up like that! Described by one of my clients as 'a literary grammarian', writing, researching and reading are requirements for sanity, at least this side of the keyboard.
