Viglink response to email

I emailed viglink to ask them why they weren't inserting some links where I didn't insert them (they are supposed to). They told me it's not working and they'll sort it out soonest.

Also, just noted I earned 10 cents from them - and learnt a little more about the program. They're nice to speak to - and helpful.

As mentioned on our info page about VigLink on Wizzley, we have not enabled automatic link insertion yet.

There are very limited control options for individual authors at this time. During the test phase, we were seeing some strange link insertions that weren't making much sense. For example, one article used the word "canon" (as in rule, law, principle), and VigLink inserted a link to a Canon camera.

Another factor was that some articles already use plenty of text links, and the automatic link insertion would add several more. Not an optimal situation.

So, while we're working on ways to better control this feature we'll hold off until we can be reasonably happy with the results.

Update: You can now enable/disable automatic link insertion by VigLink on a per page level!

To enable this, there are 2 things to consider:

1. Ensure that "Link Insertion" turned to "ON" within your VigLink dashboard (under Features)

2. Ensure that the option "Enable VigLink auto link insertion" is checked (default is 'yes') in the bottom right column of your page editor.

The technology behind automatic link insertion is not perfect, but rather than going for an all-or-nothing approach we thought we'd let you decide on a page by page basis.

Can we see the links when we are logged in?

You should be able to see them. I can see them, although it may take a while before they appear on some pages.

Okay, couldn't see them on one page so thought that I'd ask.  :)
