Wizzle's New Chat Room

Has anyone noticed the New Wizzle's Author's Chat Room? I discovered it by accident this morning.

This is Jerrico's enterprise - not an "official Wizzley chat room". Our forum is still the best place to exchange ideas and get all the Wizzley news.

We appreciate Jerrico's support for all things Wizzley , and we have no problems whatsoever with his chat room site.  

However, we've had this idea on our to-do list for a while: a live-chat function that's fully integrated with wizzley.com and our forum. After our recent major update, this item has moved up on our list. It may take a few weeks to find the best solution but we'll get to it, eventually.

Yep I built it originally as a way to conversate with a few authors and I thought it would be neat to have our own chat venue but didn't think they'd (wizzley) create one (usually because of having to moderate it) but if your going to create one that would be fantastic! No other 2.0 property has one so we'd be wiznique :)... (by the way I make it clear on the page that this is not an official or affiliated wizzley enterprise :)

It's not being used by many, likely because it's only advertised in one post (buried now) in the forum and and my tag line on posts :) a few of us prolific forum posters showed up but I think if it were live on the site as an option more people would use it... My goal was to get people to talking, sharing ideas, or just BSing (we all need a chat break don't we?)...

As I said - nothing wrong at all with your idea, Jerrico. It's great to have a live-chat.

We'd just like to find a solution "closer to home" (integrated). The link would be highly visible to all, and that way more people could participate and benefit from it.

I totally agree I'd much rather see it here, more people would participate and we could help one another out :) and wizzley would be the first site of this kind to actually do it. 

Ryan, what's ironic is when I built that although the chat was my main purpose I also wanted to convert the rest of it into a fan site, just had no idea what to put there just yet... My chat room wasn't getting much action though because not enough authors knew about it (and I deindexed the page from SE's because I don't want spammers and I don't know if chat is indexed in search results so I wanted to keep it in house... (links are do follow though, I have below the chat window a live feed of newest published articles...

I LOVE the idea of a chat room right on the Wizzley site, I think it would provide inspiration to authors who get stuck, need a head break (chat always helps and chat world wide yields some interesting conversations don't you think?) and more people would get to know one another on another level. I also think that our site is well moderated and the people here are well behaved, so a chat room would be great, a chat room on HP would be a frikken disaster, however. And all Wizzlers will come to know the Chat Tos that will be identical to the joining wizzley tos, bad behavior- especially in the chat room will likely be grounds for leaving, of course there will be warnings unless someone comes unglued lol... but will participation in chat be an algorithm chunk? hehe

conversations can become wizzles and I think you should allow people to post their wizzles in the chat room, maybe even have them feed in so while people are chatting they can see what is being published in real time (could be an on off switch for it too)... you could also utilize this to showcase your wizzles but to talk about them too.

So the only question now is... what to do with wizzlersconnection later- perfect name for a fan site if you ask me- even uses internal lingo.

Ryan can you point me to the Squidoo fan sites you spoke of?
