Michelle was stumbleupon-ing while I worked and landed on a radio station like streaming site on someones playlist of "songs to zone out to". We played this on good speakers and it really pumped me up to write. It's mellow coffee shop like sound and upbeat tempos kind of relax your mind (meditative) then stimulate your creative centers (she pulled out all kinds of crafts while listening to it and I got a lot of mundane work done without being too bored...

If your interested  just go here and crank up the speakers (bass if you have it!)... if you just want to clear your head it's good for that too... sort of a type of music that helps you feel good ...

Writing Inspiration Music (no words)

It gives me that atmosphere of sitting in a Starbucks on a laptop sipping coffee (for effect we started brewing gourmet coffee for the aroma effect :)

from streaming site:

Fifteen tracks: Slow droning, heavy classical, and some upbeat instrumental tracks too for your journey into reverie

NOTE: Give the Zappa a minute to get good before you skip it. Trust me.

(I just realized the first song has some cursing in it but skip to about 2 minutes and ride the music wave :) (no more talking past that first part)

Not bad.  I like listening to calm music while I work.

My cat got scared and ran out of the room on that first song!!! Pretty funny.

After a while I did not even realize I was listening to anything - does that mean it is mind-calming or mind-numbing?

It means you can do 2 things at once quite well.  That is my professional opinion. Foot in Mouth

this was a great find. It seems to bounce to another similar station when it completes the mix and I had no idea it did, so it was really close to everything else- very soothing but also mind provoking with the way the music bass and the pink Floydish odd sounds that repeat...unlike playlist.com there are no commercials anywhere (yet anyway), that makes this awesome... some sound are strange and cool (familiar too like bike spokes, and record static sounds or something... It really put me in a place to write and feel good- brew some coffee or burn an inscent but keep fresh air in the room and turn off any other distractions but the puter- I wrote about 8 articles and a tedious project dealing with rewriting 44 product descriptions of the same thing... but it helped... back to it today :)
