Amazon UK?

Just wondering -  is it possible to code the Amazon capsules to use geo-targetting to change between Amazon US/UK depending on where the person is from?

Despite the supposed "stats" I know of a few people who write JUST for Amazon UK targets and do quite well from Amazon UK - using words like biscuits, nappies, dummies, colour etc.

I'm from Australia, so I'm  used to writing with "English" English.

Hey wrylitt,

that's an excellent suggestion! I was thinking about it just yesterday, too. We'll look into this.

A problem I see, is that products on Amazon.com do not necessarily exist on Amazon.co.uk. Also most likely, it's not enough to simply swap the Amazon partner ID. Likely, we'll have to send the user directly to the product page on Amazon.co.uk and there, the product URL will be different. Maybe we'll find a way to deal with it.

I don't know how hard the coding side of this is but...

Could any item placed into an Amazon capsule automatically come back with "Ok this is on both US/UK sites" or "This items is only available on [country] site, do you want to keep it or choose another?"

Although it's a great idea, it's probably pretty complicated, or rather: time-consuming (inside the page editor). We would have to check each article's availability on Amazon.co.uk. We'll check the details to that as soon as possible!

This would be pretty complicated. The two sites use different URLs for most products. It will be the same for some books because the ISBN is used but many books have different ISBNs in each country. You might find a match but it's actually the imported foreign version rather than the local version.

Products often have different names too. Anything automated would most likely require a manual check.

One option would be to allow us to manually enter a UK ASIN as well as the US one and then automatically display that to UK visitors if present.
