Author Rank

Just wondering why my author rank is only a 20 and what I need to do to get it higher. The majority seem to be around 50, and will less pages.  I've seen someone at 100. What does one need to have, or do, to get a higher rank?

Thanks

From our help page:

"We optimize the ranking system on a regular basis. This may cause occasional changes to individual ranks."

"The author rank is calculated from the number and quality of the pages and the completeness of an author's profile. Pages of low quality or even spam lead to a lower rank, and, in extreme cases, to exclusion."

I think Simon and Hans are still fiddling around with our system. Let's wait a bit longer before we take it more seriously.

Oh, yes, you got here first.  I was going to say that if you just keep writing, it will move up.  Mine is high because I started before the site opened, and just due to my general awesomeness.  :D

Yep, it takes some time for the score to "grow" ... just wait a few days. You should see it increase each day :)

The one thing I learnt about scores from Hubpages is that it's possible to have a score of 1 and still get over a million hits (not me personally, but I saw spammers like that.)

That may be an extreme example, but honestly scores have nothing (or very little) to do with getting external earnings or traffic.

You are almost correct, wrylilt. Our internal ranking system helps to determine the best writers and articles. As those will be displayed on the front pages of Wizzley, they might attract clicks (and traffic) from the outside.

True chef but, especially when there are hundreds and then thousands of articles it gets to the point where even that is a low chance. So definitely not worth stressing over scores for.

You're right. And whoever is right buys the next round.

Two bonus "rights" for you, dear. Wild cards, too.
