Can I use my amazon id from hubpages on wizzley?

I have an amazon affiliate account and I have an id that I set up through hubpages. I tried to set up an id for wizzley but wizzley wont accept the new id because it is too long. I remedied this by placing my hubpage id on my wizzley account. I was wondering if I am allowed to do this? If not, how do I get a shorter id for my wizzley account?

Hi DancingBells,

You can use only one Amazon Associate ID that you setup with Amazon. You cannot use any other affiliate account from any other website.

if you do not have a Amazon AssociteID, write and publish 3 Wizzley pages, then see the little 'I" next to Amazon Associate ID in your settings under your account name in Wizzley, like this below...

 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Show products from the huge Amazon catalogue and receive a commission on sales.

To claim your share of ad impressions, enter your appropriate affiliate ID in your Wizzley account. It will then be substituted in 50-60% of the page impressions of your articles.

Registration instructions

Register as an affiliate only if you have created at least two pages on Wizzley.com - otherwise your application may be rejected.

When registering, you will be asked for your website. Enter the URL of your profile page:

You are also asked for the website(s) you will use to send traffic to Amazon. Enter the URL of any of your articles.

Hi  dancing bells, since you're already registered at amazon.com all you need to do is sign into your affiliate account and on the left top you will see "Signed in as" Just below that you would see a link "manage"

Click it. On the next page just add a tracking id - that's it.

Thanks lobobrandon! I do already have an amazon id. I originally signed up for amazon associate program through hubpages. I logged on to the amazon associate page to create a second amazon id for my wizzley account. I succeeded in doing this and attempted to post the new id onto my wizzley account. However, wizzley says my id is too long by about 4 characters. I don't know how to fix this!

Yup, I read what you wrote in the beginning.  I assumed you created a long id somehow :)

Anyway how long is your id excluding the "-20" part? Mine's 11 characters. Including the ending it's 14. I doubt yours would be bigger, because as far as I remember this was the max length possible

DB - once the staff are awake I am sure they can remedy this for you by removing the ID you have entered. Once they have done this you will be able to enter your Amazon ID that you created through Hubpages.

It should be something like this abcdefghijkl-20 where "abcdefghijkl" is a unique set of characters probably having "...hubpage..." somewhere in it. The only time you will need another Amazon associates id is if you want to promote products from other than Amazon.com (i.e. .ca, .co.uk, .fr etc). Unfortunately very few web 2.0 sites allow for Amazon other than the US version.

Oh, we simply didn't expect an Amazon ID to be that long :-P A maximum of 30 characters was assumed, which has already been increased to 40 characters.

Thanks for letting us know. You should now be able to enter your full partner ID Smile.

I use a different one on all sites so it's easier to track sales and know which site is giving you sales.

And here I thought I couldn't get one longer than 14 characters!

Didn't think to do that. Thought one could only have one per Azon site.

Question: I already am an Amazon Affiliate. I use the same tracking ID for everything, so does that mean I can use the same affiliate ID here as well. I added wizzley to the website list on Amazon affiliate account.

Yes Linda, you can. However, if you want to track activity from Wizzley separately, you should create a new tracking ID within your Amazon account.

thanks nightowl.  But the tracking ID is suppose to help affiliate keep track of which sites are getting sales. Not a bad idea though.
