Cmd- V erases saved text modules!

This is really bad. It's happened to me three times already. I am using a Mac and working on Chrome.

In a text module, if I want to copy something and paste it in, the ENTIRE MODULE is erased. Gone. A lot of work down the drain.

At first, I didn't know what happened.

The second, I realized that cmd-V just erased the paragraph of new text in my module. So, I finished the module, saved it and tried cmd-V again.

The third, it erased my entire saved module.

This makes me extremely unhappy!

Hi Deb,

I have a Mac and I use Chrome.

I just tried the same thing in a test page, and it worked just fine.

Try to empty your cache, restart computer and browser, and try your procedure in a test page (which you don't have to publish, of course).

Hope it works out for you. If not, let's consult with Simon tomorrow.

Hi Deb,

I don't know why this is happening to you since I could not reproduce this behavior (I don't have a mac either), but until we find out here are some suggestions:

  1. If you paste and the content disappears don't click on "Save". If you hit "cancel" instead then the previous content should be back.
  2. Try disabling the editor and working without it, at least until all your content is saved. The tinyMCE editor is often known to do wonky things, not just here on Wizzley.
  3. When composing new text you might want to write it on Notepad, or whatever the equivalent is on the mac. Then transfer it into the module when you're done.

It takes a bit of getting used to but it's still better than losing your work. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks, Achim and nightowl,

I'll give those things a try tomorrow and clean up Chrome and see how it works. Chrome did a few other weird things, so I switched over to Firefox to finish up. My module did show back up again after I closed out of wizzley - very strange!
