Hi all,

I'm working on my wizzography and when I went to publish it I got a duplicate content warning.  I didn't copy anything from anywhere...I can't guarantee that I didn't repeat something about myself, but didn't do any direct copying at all.  Should I just go ahead and publish?  I don't know how to figure out what might be duplicate.  Thanks bunches!

Go ahead and publish, Claudia. Then we'll have a look at how much is duplicate and whether we can allow it or not.

okay, but before I do, can you tell me what happens if you do not allow it?  will you be able to tell me what is duplicate if anything and what to change so I can try to fix and republish? Thanks!  I'll be back to check in in the morning:-)  claudia

Don't worry, Claudia - we never delete anything. If there are any problems, we'll discuss.  Smile

I thank you...I'll do that later today.  I may rework part of it, as it is only natural to write similar things about yourself from site to site, and I have done that in several places, so that may be what the duplicate checker is picking up...we'll see.

I do want to say that one of the features I love about Wizzley is the fact that it tells you when there may be duplicate content, it's so important to avoid that.  Love the how it checks the content when you are publishing.  Have a great day!

this is good to know.  thank you both!  indeed, when we write from our personal experience on many different sites, it's easy to repeat phrases.   esp if we write like we talk!  lol

Exactly, Joan. The filters may pick up a sentence or two from your other writings. However, we run every article through copyscape and Google in order to determine the percentage of duplicate content. Depending on the length of your article, sometimes even a short paragraph can be allowed.

As long as you don't intentionally copy whole sections from other sites, you're probably okay.

Okay, I reworked a few things that sounded, as joan said, like thngs I'd say over and over, and am so happy to say that when published, it didn't give me a warning...I love that feature!  Thanks for all your help and support. My "wizzography" is done, though I will add more in time.
