is anyone else using Google authorship? If so, how you are inserting your byline into the first 180 characters? And how is it working for you?

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I *believe* you don't need to insert it into the first 180 characters. So long as you have your Google+ ID inputted in the "Settings" section of your profile then Wizzley takes care of it for you. Of course it's completely up to Google to decide whether or not they will show your picture next to your article. I don't think any of mine here at Wizzley have been but I've seen Wizzley articles by others show up with Google Authorship. Also, it can take 2 - 3 months for Google to accept you into the authorship program (it took about that long for me with articles from other sites). Hope this helps |

Where do you put the rel author tag? I've had google authorship for a while. Applied about 18 months ago, I think. Can't actually remember. I'm trying to figure out why everything else I write on the web comes up with my google authorship but Wizzley doesn't.For some reason, Google does not recognize my link with Wizzley. |

You don't need to put a rel author tag in manually because the site does it for you so long as you input your Google+ ID into your profile settings. Your picture with a link to your profile page appears on every article you write so that's how it connects for Google Authorship. This works the same way at Squidoo. I haven't had my picture next to my Wizzley articles yet but I have had it put next to some (not all) of my Squidoo ones. |

Exactly. Thanks, Tara. Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

I'm sorry, but my articles from other sites appear with my picture. Nothing from Wizzley does. If there was a place I could upload a screenshot, then I would do so. But I've copied, and here I paste...

Well, exactly, I've just done a search for some of your articles, and your picture does not appear next to your wizzley articles. Doesn't that prove my point that it's not working on Wizzley?

We think we've done everything correctly to facilitate the connection between Wizzley and Google Authorship. The rest is up to Google (and authors building up their authority). We haven't seen any sure-fire method, so far. Achim "Chef Keem" Thiemermann is the co-founder of a pretty cool new platform called...um...er...oh, yeah - Wizzley.com.

Sorry I have been busy on various things and just stopped by
This may seem like tecnical support if you have plugged the computer in when you report a fault.......but you have added your Wizzley Profile to the sites you are a contributor on your Google Plus Profile haven't you? I just did a quick search for some of my articles and yes my picture and circle details are appearing alongside them. |

Paul, I don't think so. Remember that Google enables you to see what they think you want to see. This is what I see...
this is my search for "how to stay cool" "Paul Duxbury"

Tess: 08/31/2013 - 05:00 PM Not necessarily. That page was written a few days ago so it hasn't had sufficient time online to be an authority page. Also, I only have a handful of articles here and many of them don't get very much traffic and therefore aren't ranked very highly here. This is why I'm not surprised Google hasn't included my picture with my articles. I think I had 20 - 30 articles on Squidoo, many in the same niche, before Google started considering me an authority on any subject. |

Then I'm unsure of what you're saying, Tara. Because my stuff comes up with google authorship and my picture from other sites. It has just never done so with Wizzley and I'm trying to understand why. |

What I am saying is that although I am not a good example because so far my stuff on Wizzley doesn't come up with Google Authorship, I am pretty sure I have seen other Wizzley articles come up with it in the past. Paul (Pkmcr) has confirmed that his pages are working. But I can't explain why it isn't working for you so I think this is where I will stop commenting because it seems this issue is beyond my expertise. |

I checked Paul's pages. His photo did not come up. Remember that if one is signed into google, then one's photo comes up. If one is not signed into google, then it comes up as other people see it.
Perhaps my understanding of Google Authorship is wrong.
Isn't every article that comes up supposed to have one's photo attached to it? Nothing I got for Paul had a photo attached. |

Just had an idea. Try plugging the url of one of your pages into the Webmaster Tools Rich Snippet testing tool. http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets If everything is connected alright, your photo will show beside your article. If something isn't connected properly then it will tell you Google Authorship can't be confirmed. My pages check out ok when I test them here. For your other question, no, Google Authorship doesn't automatically show up on every page you write. It is entirely up to Google to decide whether or not it will show your image. It's entirely possible that Google is just being more picky nowadays. Just checked my Squidoo pages that used to show Google Authorship and none are showing now, even the ones that rank on page one of Google search results. So, who knows? Hopefully they will all show up again one day.... |

I tested with about 8 different pieces and they all tested postiviely for Google authorship. So I really don't understand why in a search engine, they don't come up with my photo. |

Tess - a few days ago, I told you in a PM about the mystery of Google's decisions. Which means: We don't understand it either. All we can do is put things in the right place, and then hope that Google will recognize us. Yes, you did, indeed, Chefkeem. I'm a perfectionist (I think you know that) and I investigate all angles until I'm absolutely sure that there is nothing more I can do. Well, now I'm convinced that there is nothing more I can do! Thank you for your patience with me. Much appreciated! |
