Linking to Wizzley articles from a blog.

I am writing a blog post about cruising and cruise ships and I added five links back to Wizzley pages.

Is there a limit to the number of links one should make in a post that go to a certain site?

There's no rule as such, but 5 links could be too much unless they're really relevant (and I guess they are - that's the reason you added them). So, nothing to worry.

Thank you Brandon.  They are relevant to my post and they all cover various aspects of cruising.

I appreciate your input.

I think five links to the same website is far too many, even if they are highly relevant. It will feel like spam to Google. I'd limit it to two at most.

That is what I was afraid of.

I may cut it down then.

Thanks Digby

It really is better to have one great link point to a website. I don't know how long your article is. But I've been having great success with one link on a post of 400 to 500 words.

My post is a bit over 400 words.   I guess the better option is to write various posts and make one link in each.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Yes, that is a better strategy. But all the posts shouldn't be on the same blog either. Better to find someone in the same niche and ask if they accept a guest blogger and a single backlink. You'll be surprised how many say yes. I have the blog post all ready to go, and send them a sample with the request.

Really?  That is a great idea.

I will definitely keep that in mind.  Thanks for the helpful info!

Pam,

Digby is absolutely right...

But I'll interject one other thought...

If your blog post is full of so much information that five Wizzley pages can do it justice, maybe you have more blog articles than you think?

For example, what if I did a broad blog post on "hippies" and linked to five Wizzley articles pertaining to anything to do with the 60s. But actually, maybe my initial blog post could have been five awesome blog posts on things like "hippie music" and "hippie clothing" etc...Make sense? (I hope)

Just saying that if one blog post has so much to link to, maybe there are MANY blog posts you can write about in there?

Hi Frugal,

Yes, I could probably stretch it out and write many posts as you say.  My blog is about seashells for the most part and I add other related type posts so I didn't want (initially) to make a big deal out of the post on cruises.  However, after these good ideas from all of you, I just may do that and spread the posts out and link them together with one link to the article here.

Guess I have more writing to do...!  Thanks for the helpful advice.
