Problems with login - and the solution

I had a bit of a wobbly this morning

I went to login and it wouldn't work. 

I got the normal type message about the fact I hadn't typed something right. Close inspection revealed that the end of field for the user name wasn't accepting all the characters of my email address.  I could get so far and no further.

Panic panic - write message / email everybody I can think of!

Calm down. 

Read message again and it says "user name or email address"

Tried login again using just my username - and it logged me in

Come and write forum message with very red face!

last night we made an update, so just try to clear the browser cache and make a browser restart... Maybe this was the reason?

ok, the login field is too short. not more than 30 characters are accepted... we put this on our to do list.
