Viglink and Zazzle - changes?

When I search the Viglink merchant explorer and search "zazzle"  this is what comes up:

Pressfoo

Zazzle.ca (Canada)

Zazzle UK

I have noticed that all my Zazzle.com links were affiliated back in December when I made some good money.  Now it appears that they are not, and I am making nothing at Viglink.

This is upsetting, since I don't sign in and out of international Zazzle stores -but it appears I would have to promote here under the UK or CA site.

Anyone else have a different understanding of this?

Pam, aren't you using your Zazzle affiliate ID directly? (You probably should, if you aren't)

Not always because I thought that Viglink would pick up the link and I'd get credit for the click - or something.  I may never be able to understand this.  I thought my chances would be better without the code since I seldom make referral money at Zazzle.

If I make all my Zazzle links (outside of the Zazzle module here) with my referral code, then Viglink won't pick them up?

So are you saying that Viglink has not changed it's way of doing things and it's the way I link?  Why doesn't the Zazzle.com site show in the Merchant Explorer search and only these others?

You're right, of course, I was only thinking of our Zazzle module. It's way too early in the morning for me!

*slaps forehead and gets more coffee*

It's indeed strange, they used to have all local flavors of Zazzle listed. I'll send them (VigLink) a support query to see what's up with that.

Thanks - and sorry for waking you up! ;)

I was going to inquire about it after I heard from someone here with knowledge (you), but if you are going to ask Viglink, I will just wait to hear what they tell you.

I think the answer is going to make me unhappy.

Don't worry, Brenda, you're not alone. it's all Greek to me too...

As far as I can tell, they're talking about:

In short, when I make a link here at Wizzley to Zazzle - say I write this, "You can buy custom designs at Zazzle" and I make a link to Zazzle's home page in the word "Zazzle".  I use the Zazzle URL without my own Zazzle referral code added, like this:  http://www.zazzle.com -- and then supposedly, the link will go through Viglink since Zazzle is a Viglink Merchant.

When that was the case we could make money at Viglink from those clicks.  (in December I made $30 in one day - at Viglink- from a Zazzle click and purchase.)

I went to check on my earnings today at Viglink, and I have earned pennies over the last few months, whereas I expected to be making something from the Zazzle links - since I have a lot of them.  As I looked through my Viglink account I noticed that the Zazzle links were no longer showing as green Viglinks- like they were not affiliated any longer.  When I typed in Zazzle to the Viglink Merchant search I did not see Zazzle.com listed, but the others I mentioned above.

So it looks like Viglink no longer affiliates the Zazzle.com links.  If that is the case, none of my links will be getting me anything - except Zazzle sales, if the person ends up buying.

This stuff makes my head hurt - but that is how I understand it.

Well, I didn't know that. There's a lot I don't know, and that's probably why I only make pennies here.

Chef...!

My head hurts after a day spent in extreme housework followed by several hours bidding for freelance editing and writing work.

Please, less of the literal and feed me another glass of wine, stat?

(Now, where's that wine-drinking smiley?) Undecided

I should have been doing extreme housework today.

An hour and a half of washing up, 2 loads of washing and drying, almost 2 hours of ironing, bathroom cleaning.

And because my husband had a conference to attend today I did not get my lie in, as I was awakened around 8am and had completed an hour's washing up before 10am.

By 5pm I was dead on my feet and decided that sitting down was Rather A Good Idea Indeed.

Tomorrow brings the other half of the ironing, the rest of the washing up, another load of washing, some serious carpet cleaning and doing battle with the dust on the laminate and vinyl floors.

This is such a depressing thread ... (talking about housework brings out my tri-polar tendencies) ... I go do my taxes.

Btw, Anne wrote a note to VL-Support. She'll tell ya ASASKMAI (as soon as she knows more about it).

Ack! That's a choice! Housework or taxes...not much of a choice!

I know Anne will fill us in.  She is on it.

Here's a cheery thought - don't clean .... drink wine.   Have a good night all...

I have cleaned.

I am now drinking wine and editing furiously, having sat around and waited for work to land all day...

So what are we saying here?  Zazzle products included in the modules are shared between Wizzley and the writer. And, the direct Zazzle text links outside of the modules are supposed to go through Viglink, but they are not?

Most of my zazzle products are in the modules, however, I do have a few basic zazzle text links as well.  I have not seen a zazzle sale or click on VigLink in a long, long time.  I just assumed that Wizzley was picking up the text links as well as the modules links.  I guess not.

Exactly.  They were working through Viglink, but it looks to me like they have removed the Zazzle.com links.  And that is all I use.  A bit of a bummer if it's true.
