Brilliant article. Should be mandatory reading (with test!) for every new online author. And some veterans, too. Don't miss the Matt Cutts video!

I will make you blush some more.  LOL.  I have been writing online since October of 2011.  Started completely fresh and knew nothing about it.   I have been reading and studying everything I can on the subject.  This is by far the best article I have read on the subject of keywords.  Thank you and please write more on other topics!  It was so easy to understand.  Your style of writing is great.  Thank you -

Yep, that made me blush. <3  Thank you.

I would be happy to write more if folk are finding it helpful. Are there any other terms flying about that are proving hard to pin down?  I had someone ask me last night what Panda was all about, as that was going over their head.  I could also write about bounce rate.

Any other suggestions?

The things you mentioned are of interest to me.  Honestly, I am so new at this that anything is helpful at this point.  I hesitate to ask in forums etc. because I don't want to bother people like you who are busy with their own writing etc.  I just take my time and write down things and research them when I can.  Some of these things may sound simple but I would love to know more about things like hashtags, backlinking, reputable affiliates (other than google adsense, amazon, or ebay), bookmarking, and anything I can do to increase my traffic. I hear of all these sites like Social Monkee that will help but haven't researched them yet.   I am struggling with finding my niche right now and have been just writing about all things that interest me.  I am sure I will figure that out in time.

Please do not feel obligated to write anything because of me.  I just really liked your style and it was so easy to understand.  I think you would be good at writing about these topics because of the way you explain things.

Right now I am just trying to figure out how in the world to get my Amazon items to enlarge...they are all so small.  So you see, I have a lot to learn... LOL.  Even the simplest things.

Thank you again for a great article!

I could certainly knock something up on those subjects. Let me muse on it for a bit and see what I come up with.

Mind you, you could also use this as inspiration. As you're going on that voyage of discovery, you could write about all those things that you're learning. You're in the ideal position, because you're asking all of the questions right now. Your answers are all potential articles. It will be like leaving breadcrumbs for fellow newcomers to follow in the future.

Good luck with it all!
